Got mine today as well, i get what people are saying about the finish but i really like it. I like the fact that it's not a matte finish all over and that some parts are glossy. So its a great steelbook for me and a great film as well, so win win Here's my pics :

Well they tried to make them stand out by adding some bling effect whether its subtle or not.

I guess we should just not give any details pre-release if people are going to rip through the wordplay...


Hot News Regarding Next Play SteelBook: This is confirmed the next steelbook will be made of a metal case outside and plastic interior and it'll be a steelbook!

I personally really like it. Love the shine on it and the artwork!

I love the look of the title running vertically down the centre of the steelbook, looks excellent on display.

Also that the title on the spine displays the same way.

well frothe looks of the tracking number from hermes mine will be tomorrow just like there did with battle royale.

Never arrived yesterday which means it will probably turn up tomorrow. Luckily I have the day off work so I can sit next to the letter box and wait for it haha.

This does look better in the flesh with a nice balance of the metallic steel showing through. I've designed and set a couple of steels for print and I'm aware of the 'embossing/debossing' area within the steels layout - it's a shame they couldn't of just tweeked the art slightly and brought down the title to just inside the emboss margin which would of been like 12mm from where it is currently. I know that would if meant they were editing the original artwork but would hardly of been majorly noticeable. That's my only gripe really as its missing that lil bit of finish and sits too close to the edge. But otherwise a nice enough steel and better than quite a few others.

Its a great film mate if youve got the stomach for it, i was blown away first time i watched it. Its worth opening anyway just for the back, much better than the front imo and looks great in hand....

A lot of folks complaining about this steelbook, but I love it. It does look much better in hand, when the light catches it. If they had embossed the title this would have been one of the nicest steels available. Can't wait to see what Play.com has in store for us in 2013. Haha!

Completely agree. Think how many steels were released by Play/UK in general this time last year, and the standard of them now and makes me very excited for the future. Also, very poor but excited nonetheless...
