thats great news bud as you know its a really nice set and like yourself steel is a must,,

it is a great set, and i am fortunate enough to own the DVD gatefold/out, too. i just feel that the steel is more than a bit bland in comparison. Once Upon A Time In The West is exactly the sort of film for which i'd love to see something like a Plain Archive steel. well, i can dream!

yea totally agree that is worth one of the high end companies give this a complete make over,
had zavvi just made the slip cover different from the steel this would of made it extra special but ill take it as it is for now:thumbs:

For me the German text completely ruins it and makes it worth nothing. English or gtfo. (Yes, I'm fully aware the movie's original name is in Italian.)

Well, crappy picture with English is also worth nothing. Good art or GTFO.
That's completely true. Luckily the Zavvi one has good art, at least in my opinion. Even if it had crappy art, I would take a steel with English text any day over a non-English steel with good art.

So at £16 people are still complaining about the price whilst they happily pay triple for an additional booklet and post cards?

It is all about hype and reputation these days, the actual details of a release are of little consequence to a lot of collectors.

I would call it serviceable. They really should have just stuck with the original DVD cover they were (obviously) working off of.

WEA Steelbook with slip box for 16 seems reasonable to me. Also u get 99p postage. I can get the post + art cards printed for £3. Booklet and numbering card, I am not sure if it costs more.
The quality won't even remotely be close to the same. Maybe once a year does a steelbook come from Zavvi that is the quality of a Nova, Kimchi, HDzeta or Blufans. And I am just talking about the quality of the steelbook and art.
Grab a copy of the Zavvi edition of Guardians of the Galaxy and then a copy of the same from Blufans, and tell me they are basically the same except for art cards...

Now are picking and choosing select titles for comparison. Now I can bring in the topic of value as GotG Zavvi is worth more than its cost than GotG Blufans. Same with Thor 1 and CA1 Zavvis. :)

Certainly the most interesting artwork out of all of these new slipcased steelbook releases with the others just fine but maybe a bit on the plain and unimaginative side.
Full marks for the new artwork choice which shows flair, imagination and inspiration and clearly not simply another example of duplicating one of the many poster images out there for the film - inspired, certainly, by some of these posters but with a welcome creative twist
Inspired by but not copied:-

Pity about all the non-title print on the front of the steelbook - something that ideally should have been omitted from the steel and just kept on the slipcase.

Looking at my PayPal transactions, it is actually 48.xx that I paid for Revenant, MoS and Ant-Man GBs. :)

That's your problem. You're a rich person, some of us aren't. We work our butts off for £20 an hour.

Why don't you do that to all steelbooks then? Buy the cheapest one and make your own art cards and booklet and number cards, etc ... Bottom line, you would pay less than you would for Blufans or Nova, etc,..

And for the last time, it's NOT worth more just because someone wants to scalp them for an insane amount of money.
It's worth just as much as a person is willing to pay for it!

Like I said, maybe one or two a year comes out of Zavvi that are pretty nice and above average. They still aren't equal to the Blufans, Hdzetas, and Kimchi/Novas....BUT - would I like those Premium blu ray packages to come down in price? YOU BET.

Folks, let's keep it positive in here. People draw comparisons between collectibles completely differently. If you prefer a Steelbook without any extras, that is your right. If you wish to buy 10 versions of the same movie, also your right, it's your $. Let's move on and refrain from criticizing people for how they choose to spend their money. "Value" is completely subjective.
