How many people open their Steelbooks when they buy them or do you just leave them sealed.

So far i have 13 Steelbooks and have opened 3 i opened Angels and Demons,Inglorious Bastards and District 9.

I fear if i open my pirates and nightmare before christmas ones i will have to modify them to be able to put the discs in and not have them in a sleeve

Opened almost all of the ones I own because I watch them all :). I don't bother keeping the J-cards either.

Just a few duplicates that might be used in the future to trade are still shrink wrapped.

I buy steels to have something extra besides the movie. If I love the movie it's great to have something special with it, like a beautiful steelcase. :)

I open all of mine. Only recently started collecting, and most of them I didn't already have on blu ray. I have bought Thor and C.A. on eBay even though I have 3d blu ray amarays. But that's purely for the art. In future I'm only getting pretty ones lol.

I open mine and put them in display bags. I must have performed some kind of surgery on almost half my 300+ collection, either slimming down jumbos, putting in interior art or changing the configuration of the Steelbook (1 to 2, 2 to 1 etc). I think the only Steelbooks I haven't opened are my Iron Man 2 HK, KOR and my Real Steel Blu-fans VMB.

I will usually buy 2 copies of the same movies. one to open and one to keep sealed, that is if my budget allows me to do so.

Apart from the fact that I want to actually watch the movie, I want to also look at the inside artwork. You will never get to enjoy the inside artwork if you keep all your steels sealed.

I've only been collection now for a few weeks, so i only have 26, but all are sealed still except for a few that had a loose disc/torn shrinkwrap as i own most on blu already. Really want to open them but they could come in handy some day being sealed. Not quite sure yet

How many of you dont open your steels?

Same as above really. As i've just started, im finding it pretty crazy people are spending so much on them and not opening them EEK! is this the norm or do most of you here just open them? I understand 'collectors' wont want to open them, but i dont think i could resist haha.

Yeah thanks, what a tool eh! of all the years i've been on forums, the amount of times i've told people to do this, yet my first proper topic i make, i dont even search to see if its been done before. Sorry!

It depends on the title, for me. Since i'm pretty new to collecting SBs, i have many of these films in their respective amaray releases. However, i still have some trouble opening a SB, even if i don't own the regular version.

It took me 3 days to finally decide to cut into the French Hobbit 3D SB. Once i did, and watched it, i was impressed and loved it...but i wished i hadn't opened it, regardless.. Sooooo....yeah, i guess i prefer to keep them sealed...

I know i just totally contradicted myself. Shows you what a conundrum this is for me. :D
