How many people open their Steelbooks when they buy them or do you just leave them sealed.

So far i have 13 Steelbooks and have opened 3 i opened Angels and Demons,Inglorious Bastards and District 9.

I fear if i open my pirates and nightmare before christmas ones i will have to modify them to be able to put the discs in and not have them in a sleeve

Open all mine as I will 1 day watch them all. Don't :shoot: me down fellow :ninja: but I don't polybag mine, they just sit in my film rack and only get moved for me to watch them, no dings or scratches

I have opened most of mine. They aren't in bags either. But no one touches them but me.

I keep all my movies sealed, my video games I open them all. I only have 1 videogame steel sealed and that's Crysis 2 Nano. It doesn't have any inside artwork and I'm not getting my PS3 for a few months so no need to open it now.

I have a copy of Drive dented and a copy of Drive with a security tag on the way. Should I just open the dented one since it wont hold its value anyways? I was going to open the one with a security tag but since the security tag is on the edge of where it will be opened, i might as well open this one then right?

why not try getting a replacement copy for the damaged Drive ? no ?

Since i don't have a lot of money to spend on movies i have to unwrap my steelbooks. I simply can't afford to buy a movie twice just to leave the steelbook shrinkwrapped and watch the other copy which would be the amaray version :(.

I opened all of them.

Don't get me wrong I consider myself as a collectioner but I don't wan't to just watch the steelbook I want to feel it too watch the internal artwork the movie etc...

I try my best to buy 2 copies of steelbook blu-ray's that I absolutely love. That way, I can keep one in my collection to watch, and keep one sealed for when ever value goes up :)

99% of my stuff both DVD LEs & BD steelbooks are kept sealed, 'especially Steelbooks', unless I so damn desperate hehe

same as this fellow memeber :)

I really like to Open them up and feel the steel to have a good look at the paint work & see what they look like in the flesh, but now its getting to the point that they just go on the dust Collector :hilarious:

Ive started to open them now or buy them open so i can enjoy them and watch the film been selling a lot of sealed steels and buying open ones which sell much cheaper us long us there mint.

It all depends on how many copies I get of each release, but mine are all kept sealed (with the exception of a few until I source sealed versions).

I try to keep one eye focussed on future trades which is one factor for keeping them sealed, the other reason is probably OCD!

What he said!!

I stopped opening/buying open ones and replaced all (but 2-3 unlimited ones) of them with sealed ones - not so easy since I had 1408, Zombieland and a few other expensive ones opened.

I remember buying the entire Universum series (Crank, Gamer, Fear & Loathing, Black Hawk Down, Reservoir Dogs,...) and just opened them and put them on the shelf without actually watching any of the movies. A couple of weeks later I realized that I would have to get them all again EEK!
