Is there any "official announcement" from Blufans yet? I mean seriously what a disappointing outcome. Nobody was looking forward to a proper steebook of Pacific Rim more than me. Favorite movie of 2013. And to see a very bizarre choice of front cover art get chosen over all the amazing possibilities for this movie... artwork that would have been far more agreeable to the majority... Well... I gotta say this didn't have to be so devisive.

You have to respect BluFans efforts no matter the outcome. Without them this wouldn't even be possible.

It would appear their hands were tied regarding artwork choices from the off by the studio. Can't really blame BluFans for that.

You wanna know the real reason why choice A won??? This will upset the film's purists out here but your average fan of this movie isn't going to be able to tell you from A to Z about the ins and outs of this movie completely. So its basically all about the design.Thats right, its all about the design.choice B & C looked to much like a "pose" on the cover and choice A looked like a bad-ass design cover. All I kept reading here were the crops being done.Oh well...the vast majority don't even know anything about that as explained above. As a fine artist and having gone to college about art,if these were being critiqued solely based on the design with having no knowledge of the movie,A would clearly win.It might be sad since it might not be true to the movie but that's just the simplest reason why "A" won.

Or it could be something as simple as people enjoy a fight scene or a scene of action on the cover as opposed to a pose.

That may very well be true... But this movie has about 2 hours and 7 million fight scenes to choose from. The fact that choice A became the lead prospect is mind blowing.

The better art won.

To all the naysayers, crying about cropping and re-positioning. Did you know this was a movie? Did you know that the characters are not real and made on a computer? Who's to say which was the right image, and which was the re-positioned one?:hilarious:

Now at least, it won't look like everyone else's PACIFIC RIM.

Grasping. You could say that about any artwork for nearly any movie.
