This is really odd-no one knows anyone who ordered this when it was up...if it was up? Still leaving a light on for this being a real Steelbook :(

Hey DB you're wearing out your F5, aren't you?

F5 key all widdled down...the 'F5' is even missing...

Hate to tell you guys, but it did actually come back up for order yesterday morning. I'm guessing it was just Amazon putting up a few cancellations though because it wasn't around for long. I wasn't even fast enough to put it in my cart before it was OOS again.

Still hoping for a restock at some point though, seeing as they're still offering an email notification sign-up.

Nooooo. This can't be true. :(

Screenshot or it didn't happen :hilarious:

I, too hope it comes back in stock, and we can all find out what the deal is here...

There are at least a couple of members here who were lucky enough to get orders in when it was up, so it was definitely live for a few hours.

'Fraid so. Believe me, I'm still kicking myself that I wasn't faster getting through checkout. :(

Wow, that's REALLY crappy... especially considering how I was signed up to be notified and Amazon didn't bother to email me. :(

I have seen five times. But, I couldn't purchase it. Maybe, it seems to be system bug. I hope pre-order again.

Definite head scratcher here...

How can this go so fast? Maybe it's limited to less than 1,000 with no limit on ordering...

Sometimes Amazon Japan will show an unavailable item as in stock. Something is wrong with their system. Every once in awhile, if you sit there and refresh over and over, it will show as available suddenly, but will not allow you to pick one up. Not just this, but for any item.

I doubt it was in stock as I have not seen a single thing about anyone in Japan getting one yesterday on any of the typical JP forums.

Thanks Sam for helping me to keep my faith up :oohyeah:

I contacted amazon.jp, they said it's completely sold out

But some staff said it might be coming more

Print run 4000
Price 7980¥

Now yahoo auction price once again will be increased but nobody bid on it

I do not know how's going on pacific rim

I would had better check JP forum what local collectors talked about.

Good greif thats steep! 7980¥ = $82 USD.....and thats not even including the insane postage to get it overseas. This does have all the "bells and whistles" I want for this release but even if it were possible to order a copy, I think would have to pass on that price.

I never trust it. They always just look on the page, say it's sold out and that more may be coming. The staff rarely if ever actually know any details, they just worn in the call center.

Still, it may be fully sold out, no telling really... Japan is ridiculous when it comes to anything with an actual Japanese person starring in it from Hollywood. Even a mediocre movie like Babel sold out here in a few days and had to have stock replenished.

I wouldn't be surprised if it did sell out really, really fast in Japan. Pacific Rim is their kind of movie, giant monsters fighting in a populated city.

That may be true, but I didn't refresh the page at all when it showed as "available from these sellers" (which only included new from Amazon at 5980 Yen). But then I tried to order it and it reported the item as OOS. I figured at the time it might have been a cancellation/cancellations from Japanese trader who dumped his order because it wasn't selling for enough on Yahoo auctions.

I think the last very rapid sellout was Skyfall, and with a print run of 5k, it still took a few days. I still find it hard to believe that 4k sold out in an hour. Not enough people would have even known about it going live for that many to sell out so quickly. It's very strange. :dunno:
