I think, to compare sealed steels - it not good....
It is about previous posts about difference FS and Amaz.JP...
Off the film - and then we can see the full viewing difference.

Well, it's disappointing that there is not a full slip, or something else for this release. But as I enjoyed the film immensely, I am still glad to own it. On the way to me-enjoy yours all who decided to take the plunge! :scat:

I think I may have missed it? Any pics of the actual discs? Is there extra content on here (possibly for Japanese audience), or whatever was discussed earlier on?

That I knew, I just didn't think that any steelbook had the 7.1.
Thanks for that, I completely overlooked the FS steel!
Oh sorry my bad, I missed read your question but thanks to Apollon who corrected that for me :D

yes japanese steels are gambling, most of them are available for ages and are not very rare or expensive and one out of 100 sells so fast that you have to pay a high price if you missed it :(

EVIL I've been PM'ing you but haven't had any reply from you. Have you got them?

Has anybody who has received this checked out the feature's audio tracks; whether the new Japanese dub track can be played with English subtitles?

What is included on the two special features discs?

The colors are vivid because the pics are tweaked. I can do the same on the FS Steelbook and make it look it better.

Not sure what you meant by saying the pics are tweaked, friend. It just the play of light at different angles off the steelbook. And the pics came straight off my iPhone 4S camera through photobucket. Absolutely no contrast enhancement or any other tweaks, I can assure you.

I do not have the FS version side by side to compare so can't say whether there's any difference between the two finishes.

got my copies right now. I like them but i hate the piss poor packaging. Items were sent in a cardboard mailer

im not understanding how this is a matte finish... maybe im crazy and lack of sleep but it feels like a gloss finish. Ive been comparing this to my matte steels and the pacific rim finish doesnt feel rough but is smooth all over.

Well... maybe you missed read a couple of pages back and new to order from them, we all knew they'd ship in that cardboard envelope, that's why we all suggest to use "Gift-Wrap" option it's just an extra yen150 and totally worth the cost...

You are right. I was going through some standalone pics and not the side by side ones which I cant view at work. Now that I have seen all of them, I agree that the finishing is better but I still feel that it is way too expensive considering that there is no 3D disc and the audio being 5.1.

Sick of waiting for you guys.... Opened er up... Matte steelbook finish like all the other editions.

The coolest aspect is that you can watch the film in Japanese with English subtitles.

Haven't gotten to the special features discs yet.

パシフィックーリム好き!

LOL. How's Hayashibara Megumi (aka Ayanami Rei of "Evangelion") voicing Mako Maki? Hopefully it's 10 times better than Rinko Kikuchi's stilted delivery in the original version.

EDIT: Oh. Mine's here. Well, for the shipping price they charged me, it better be fast.
