Just picked up mine and took some quick pics. It's a nice, matte-finished SteelBook; no embossing, debossing or anything really special. Still, though; it has great art and I'm just happy to see another exclusive SteelBook in Canada! :scat:

Thanks for showing your pics. It looks great.

All the copies at the FS I went had that line on the wrapping on the right side as well, some were ripped

Yeah most of my copies have the line and all of them except one have small shrink wrap tears near the opening side :/.

Seen that before. All depends on the shrink wrap machine as is go through. Though I did notice tears along the length of the spine, not a across like a spine slash, all the way through the plastic unlike the line on the right side of the cover.

Does anyone know why Future Shop SteelBooks often have that mysterious scratch line on the right side? Maybe we need Sherlock Holmes to solve the mystery?

You'd be lucky if that's the only scratch that you get from Futureshop Steelbooks. Scratches are all part of Futureshop QA™.

In some ways Futureshop's QC is as shoddy as Amazon CA's.

The line is normally from the dumb asses opening the box with a knife and cutting too deep. They did that for Evil dead right in front of me when I got to the store. They didn't stock all and were opening the box and sliced and entire row. I am sure that's not the only problem but that's one of them lol.

All of mine have no issues because I made sure to inspect to the best of my abilities. Opening will give me a different story though lol.

Disappointed... Was lucky to have someone get two copies while I was at work today (in case one was damaged) and it turns out they both are. One has a little dent/chip near the bottom back, and the other's spine is slightly bent outwards toward the top (hopefully this one is fixable). Out of about 20 steels I've purchased in the last few days, nearly half were damaged. How the #@%# do people handle these things?! Pretty disheartened and sort of feeling like I've decided to take up the wrong hobby... Luckily I found one store that hasn't been cleaned out and reserved two copies that I'm going to go inspect tomorrow. Will pop them open right there, and if they are damaged, then I'm just going to get my money back and try my luck getting an already opened copy that's mint.

So far I've had the worst luck with both FS and Amazon.ca (probably a 1/7 ratio for getting an undamaged copy).
