Latest update from Zavvi

Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

I think for the price it's only really beneficial for the UK members as it'll probably end up being the cheapest way to get it. It doesn't look as if Zavvi are going to do anything to show it's only limited to 1000 pieces which is a huge shame. They could sticker this, or add some kind of numbering to this to make it that little bit different.

The steelbook is really costly, I think they can slap a sticker on it for us..

After seeing these listed on eBay i just don't get why anyone would pre-order from a private seller at a massively inflated price, mainly cause it's really unsecure!

If these are only delivered around the 23/24th December it's gonna be after christmas before the re-sellers are posting them out so buyers won't expect delivery until the first week in January at best.

By this time it's beyond the 30 days limit of ebay/paypal buyer protection and you can't even leave feedback over 90 days after purchase. So any buyers are just leaving themselves open to scammers. If the steelbooks don't turn up there's literally nothing that can be done about it.

because a shared 4k print run with all the same looking steels makes this release look silly at that price with that art BUT a 4k shared print run, with only 1k being sticker-ed and exclusive makes the one with the stickers "the one to get" since its the only different/same steelbook

It all depends on the collector...for years people hunted FNAC, Mediamarkt, Futureshop, and other Steels, even with the same art, and just because of a sticker/price tag. Still happens now, different strokes for different folks

Well we don't know that yet, it is just what people are assuming. A 1k UK run is still great regardless of what other countries release it.

What's the difference to the HDN exclusive steelbook #1 then? What about T2 kimchidvd exclusive?

I don't really care about this steelbook, the movie or the hype around it, but if zavvi make a big deal out of a release being limited to only 1000 copies and charge a premium for it, I think it would be strange NOT to individually number it or at least put an exclusive sticker on it... it's either limited and therefore somewhat special or it's not, but after all we are on a forum regarding collecting steelbooks and the folks who mock the idea of it being stickered or numbered are most likely the ones who didn't get a preorder in

It is a Zavvi exclusive steelbook for the UK, just not worldwide (similar to Iron Man 3)

I don't care so much about the sticker, I just think Zavvi are missing an opportunity to make this difference from the rest. Also, like I have already stated the UK one will be the cheapest way for me to get it. Importing it from US/Canada would be more than £24
