The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

No doubt this will show up in other countries, giving everyone else the chance to get the same steelbook. I'm just glad I managed to get one within the UK as it'll no doubt be the cheapest option (even at £24) for me

I liked the film but it wasn't enough to get the steelbook for it at that price, had it in the basket but decided to cancel it. will get the regular version.

Well, that's why you should've gotten the steelbook.

Steelbook: 24 gbp
Regular version: 17 gbp

Only 7 gbp difference, it looks a lot, but not after a while.

After a while (when opened);

Steelbook: probably worth at least the 24 gbp you paid for it, maybe even more because it was so limited

Regular version: still available everywhere, in Amazon's 3 voor 17 GBP. You'll be lucky if someone buys it for 4 or 5 gbp

In case of the steelbook version: you've made no loss, maybe even a profit
In case of the regular version: you are guaranteed to make a loss

:)

yes but it is £7 on a film I liked but not really liked that £7 could go towards my pacific rim steel book instead.

I have ordered the ps4 for release day, a few games and the breaking bad deluxe edition £110 so I am not keen on spending money on things I am not fussed on especially towards xmas time, I not in the business of buying with a view to make a profit, I would rather let someone who really wanted it to get it.

I don't sell my blu ray as I generally buy them because I like them and have no interest in selling them, to make profit.

I know some people do and that they choice. (just my opinion).

Your looking at it like people want to make a profit from it, it don't matter what it's worth if it's for your collection because a collector wouldn't sell it anyway.
Plus there are lots of steelbooks that are now deleted but still not worth that much and i think this will be one of them and no i'm not bitter because i didn't manage to pre order one :tear:

There is a chance that this edition may get some extras as I just found out that a Special Collectors edition is being released in the States on the 3rd of December.

This is the second time in a row that a Michael Bay movie has been released as a Bare Bones edition and then followed up a few months later with a special edition. I have to say that I really don't like it when studios do this :(

The best example of a barebones Bay flick is Transformers DOTM. Had to wait a long time for them to release the 3d version, which came with all the extras missing from the initial release.

We can but hope this will contain extras, but this is a Zavvi release so I wouldn't bet on it.

I doubt it - No retailer would miss out on an opportunity to encourage people to double dip. I'd put money down that this will remain bare bones.

Edit: Maybe thats where the other 3000 are :) Zavvi will do the initial 'limited release' and then do another with extras :D

Someone is already selling this on ebay for £46. And they have 5 copies. I hate seeing crap like that when genuine buyers have missed out

The wording is very very similar to the description in the OP, so it does suggest someone on here. However, they are not breaking any rules, as Zavvi allowed purchases of up to 5 copies.
