The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

That's crazy sold out
anyone who has ordered more than 1 copy should have them cancelled
With 1000 limited it should only be 1 copy per customer

If anyone has placed more than 1 it simply should not be allowed and anyone who has done this are not letting genuine fans of film place an order
As most people only buy 1
Buying to sell at a profit should never be allowed with any limited release of only 1000 or 2000 run

Zavvi should cancel anyone who has placed more than 1
So any customer who has placed an order example qty of 2/3/4/5 etc there order should be reduced to only 1

Well said that man!

You snooze, you lose :p (its ALWAYS been like this for low print runs and it won't change)

As other people have pointed out, I was under the impression that 6pm was the time it went online. Also, I have been busy, it was not a case of being lazy, I came on early to get one at 6pm.

And I personally don't think it SHOULD be this way, low print runs are crazy, I feel. As someone else pointed out (and got attacked for), this stops genuine fans of the film from getting one.

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking this, but whilst it can be appealing to own something rare, many people make it an infuriating hobby and it is irritating that studios choose to take advantage of this with low print runs.

I know this post will probably be hated on etc, but oh well.

I don't think we need to retread this point and per the do's and dont's of this forum, let's keep the "ebay" and for "profit" and the like out of this thread.

Further posts will indeed be deleted.

Thanks

I would rather not risk ordering a solitary copy only for someone at Royal Mail to put their boot through it, so I take the necessary steps to reduce that risk.

It was posted earlier in the thread:
i got a mail just now, it says 5PM

Pre-order @ 5PM - £23.99

Snoo, not everyone can spend all day refreshing the thread so saying it was posted earlier really doesn't help out after the fact. ;)

I'm not mad about it but just wish they didn't change it all the sudden

And how does saying You snooze you lose! make this a community that people want to be part of? That's pretty messed up you guys?

No pain No gain. You snooze You loose.

I did "snooze" literally. Was sleeping.

But if I had known when this was going live, I could have set an alarm. I didn't "snooze" because I'm lazy or don't care.

Anyway. Even though I totally missed it, I think it's nice to see a steel sell out so quickly like this. It's these kind of scenarios that keep the steelbook world alive and well!

I will keep an eye on this thread and for any updates about it coming back into stock, but I wouldn't be extremely upset if a PM appeared in my inbox from a US member that might consider sending an spare copy in my general direction.

To be honest I though that 1000 would cause problems for members. 2000 would have been better, I knew this would sell out insanely fast. They could have still shifted 2000 easily and it's still quite a limited amount. Would of given a much greater chance of all our members getting a copy.

Or maybe not sold it an hour earlier than normal for a Saturday release?

It's funny reading through this thread. I've got my single copy but I ordered then cancelled and used the discount code so there's potential for a fair few to reappear a few days after the chaos dies down.

A couple of observations.
Nowhere has it ever said live at 6PM (UK). This is a conclusion that the vast majority have just jumped to. An assumption that this would be the case based on previous releases. SO this argument for missing out is moot.
The customer limit approach being drudged up again. I've been on the side that's missed out before and have exclaimed this from the rooftops. At the end of the day the company is trying to make money. They couldn't care less who buys and how many or what happens in the aftermarket.

So, in conclusion. Take it like a man and try and solve the situation or cry like baby and whine till your hearts content. No difference to me.
