The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

very bad zavvi

This is not a good way to treat regualar costumors WHO buy every zaavi release, make 1k print. I feel very bad about zavvi now.

Couple more points.

A 1000k or 4000k run is 1000000 and 4000000 units respectively.

Also. They guy saying they've create their buzz and hype train by activating it for an hour makes a valid tin-foil hat conspiracy theorist point. But he fails to realise that fickle steelbook community will cancel in their droves if more are released. Whilst some thought the movie was terrific (my view) others do want this for the limited number alone and would cancel in a heartbeat if the rarity is no longer so.

Apart from the heads up from Zavvi on the most informative Steelbook forum on the internet over 10 days before they listed the pre-order, the email they sent out to their own database and also repeatedly tweeting about it on twitter, I'd have to agree that they handled this really badly! :p

In this instance you'd have to say that they did everything they could to ensure the Steelbook buying audience were well enough informed to make plans to be at a computer if they wanted to order one.

It keeps getting said that this will come back for pre-order at some point. I'm sure those who missed it will get another chance to bag a copy ;)
