Latest update from Zavvi

Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

It's funny how Zavvi get slated for doing 4K print run's, then slated for releasing too many Steelbook's a month, then slated for there prices, then they do a 1K print run, and then get slated again for some people missing out. It's completely ridiculous, if it wasn't for Zavvi, the Steelbook market would have died in the UK when Play decided to give it up. You don't have to buy every Steelbook they release, I buy Steelbook's to collect, I never started crying when I missed out on Jack Reacher from ES.

p.s. I hear Zavvi are thinking of releasing a Pain & Gain dummy for anyone who didn't get a copy lol

I agree with Lionel, I was going to say exactly the same. I collected all of the steelbooks released by Play.com and when they stopped selling them I asumed my only option would be to get them from abroad such as the likes of Amazon Germany. I am also pretty peeved that I missed out on Pain and Gain but I fully appreciate that by releasing 1000 copies that this release will hold its value in the future and remain sought after, which at the end of the day is what every collector wants for his collection.

Zavvi don't give a monkeys who buys their stock. They are a business trying to be profitable. And I don't blame them for this. So you missed out this time. Suck it up and get on with life. And this 'limit quantity per customer' is bullshit. What's it anyone's business if someone buys 10. I don't think they should but that their decision.

The sour grapes in this thread is insane. If those same people wouldve got their copy they wouldnt be complaining about zavvies low printrun. Wouldve been shouting from the rooftops how epic it is.

The steelbook community is rather large now and this wouldve easily sold out with only half of the buyers buying more than 1 copy. Maybe if you wanted it so much you should have been checking this thread during the day for hints as a member said it would be 5pm earlier in the day which turned out to be correct

I added the page on my mobile home screen and I kept checking throughout the day and around 5.20 pm saw pre-order gone live. Almost miss out and feel bad for all the natives, foreigners and Martians that have miss out lol, come on people the film is not great, pretty average in my book and like many has said it is only a steelbook.

Could be. Czech steel has different artwork, at present, and that could be the worldwide artwork. This zavvi one could be exclusive.

I really want to see this film, and I like the steel, but I don't care how limited it is. £23.99 for a steelbook is just ludicrous price gouging!

I used to think £10.99 for back cat titles on play was pushing it, when the amaray was available for a fiver but Zavvi pricing takes the biscuit. £17.99 for a new release is my limit (and i'd have to really want it to pay that, i.e Elysium)

I miss play.com, Lawless was a beautiful steel and only £15.
