The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

hi folks,

yet again. we don't allow profanity in our forum posts. these posts will be removed.

we don't like to discuss quantity purchased that may or may not have been for resale. let's not chat about e-bay, scalpers and the rest.

and if you are found to be attacking another member or using threatening language, that will get you banned.

thanks.

As far as Heche's suggestion of a countdown timer on the webpage is concerned, that isn't a good idea. Why? Because then everyone will refresh the page at the same time and most likely cause denial of service due to the website being overloaded with requests. Their current system may not be very transparent, but it does mean that not everyone is after it instantly.

Personally I love the fact that the community for steelbook collecting is world wide, from what I've seen so far, ninja collectors help each other out all the time when people have missed out or retailers don't ship to the uk from usa or visa versa etc. I think that all the upset over this is stopping the people (who managed to get an order in) from enjoying it. I myself didn't get one but I would like to read all the ninjas excited comments cos they did get one.

I too, (as others have said) like the fact that zavvi had some fun with this release. 1000 copies, great stuff! :scat:

I really want to see this film, and I like the steel, but I don't care how limited it is. £23.99 for a steelbook is just ludicrous price gouging!

I used to think £10.99 for back cat titles on play was pushing it, when the amaray was available for a fiver but Zavvi pricing takes the biscuit. £17.99 for a new release is my limit (and i'd have to really want it to pay that, i.e Elysium)

I miss play.com, Lawless was a beautiful steel and only £15.

My thoughts exactly

I wonder if anyone offers up a gb if these haters would crucify them or praise them for getting them a copy?

As has already been stated Zavvi is a business whose sole objective is to make money they already rip us off with their ridiculous prices but they know how fickle & desperate we steel collectors are so to drum up faltering sales they offer a title on a limited run like this one and fall about laughing as we go nuts trying to get hold of a copy.
Their packaging is crap & their cs is worse so to fellow collectors who missed out like i did we can get the CZ release, & to give zavvi a message we wont be messed around stop buying their steels simples ;)

I got this for less than £20 with discount code and reward points so not so ridiculous if you consider the Czech one might be closer to £30 to import.

Good. One less collector to compete with. Your loss at the end of the day.

This thread is funnier than the film. It's a steelbook. Did I want it? Yes. Did I get one? No.

Threads like this amuse me and also makes me concerned about the unfriendly nature of this exclusivity with collectors.

You win some and you lose some. Oh well. I'll wait for the next one and hopefully I'm lucky.

Btw if people wanna send me this as a wedding present please feel free lol!

Good luck getting this for a reasonable price. If anything prices outside of the UK seem to be even more ridiculous.
