Totally blown away by the beauty of the full slip and lenti I received today and I have not even opened either yet to look at the steel!

Guys, something weird has happened :droid:.

I haven't seen the film, but I think that in it Jean-Baptiste Grenouille has a thing for killing redheads, right?

Well, I was opening my lenticular edition, and while I was removing the numbered card, something caught my eye (next to the "P") :

Yes, that is hair, and before you ask, no, it's not mine, that's not my hair color at all and there's no way anyone else's hair could have gotten on that card between the moment I unwrapped it and the moment I noticed that.

So I'm thinking: is Kimchi including another goodie with the hair of a redhead beauty on the numbered card? How thoughtful :D.

I'm doing my best not to think that it's a pube from a sweaty Korean guy packing these things in the Kimchi warehouse :D.

Lol every time I read this. Thanks for the laugh!

I watched the film with my friend this weekend. First off, the steelbook is amazing. Glossy, great design, great choice of color inside art, even the disc itself is really cool. And of course the slip which I've already gone on about.

The Blu-ray picture quality is decent but not great. Better than DVD. I was happy with the sound which is good because the score is beautiful.

The film itself is even better than I last saw it years ago. My score went up from a 7.5 to an 8.5. It's flawed but it's a technical masterpiece.

I just opened this last night and watched with the wife - total blind buy and we loved the movie. Rich colours, sublime soundscape, and the quality of the lenti & steel cannot be faulted.
Well... almost - had one paint chip on the gloss black back, just at the bottom right next to where the blu-ray logo is on the spine. Most annoying and one can feel it too when you run your finger over the steel. No fault of packaging as it was under the shrinkwrap and then under the lenti sleeve which was itself shrink wrapped and under 2 feet of bubble in a box. Just a factory defect.
Still, pleased as punch with it.

Both full slip and lenti releases seem to be in stock on kimchi's site ... Didn't this run out of stock ? Have they increased the print run maybe ?

I've spent the last 3 hours trying to decide which to get: Full slip or lenti .. Both seem to be excellent based on user comments, but which should I buy if I can only buy one ? :p

I have zero interest in owning of even just watching this movie but to be honest the quality and design of this release looks amazing. If I so much as even heard of this movie and liked it even a little bit I would be all over this release

Was never out of stock as far as I remember.

Well you could be right, but one would assume that a release such as this, which people have praised *so* much in this thread, would have run out in a matter of hours or a day at max, since the run count is 1500 only per edition .. Instead, both editions are available for ordering even now like a month or two after the pre-order went live ..

So maybe I'm just being negative or something, but something here doesn't add up .. :p

EDIT: The Memento release almost has the same run counts, but that ran out in like a day I think .. This is wasn't even praised a lot in the forums here ..
