Doubt it. It was an HMV exclusive. If they are not releasing means hmv kept the rights. I guess.

The exclusivity is not life time, and I think it was only for an artwork. Disney can release another steelbook if they want! (I think!)

This steelbook is a Piece Of Terrible Creative: At My Wit's End.
Disney, with all its resources, can't come up with something fresh and new?
It just seems like they are bored with their own movies.

what does that me us (me) - these are oop/oos in hours ?

i prefer good and tested art vs. so called creative and ground breaking (read : couple of legs playing piano against silver backdrop (crotch shot ...)) or something similar - . and i do not root for di$ney as a company...

zavvi never cared about that before. Thor and Captain America were HMV exclusive and zavvi released there own exclusive for them!

They were only allowed to release those because HMV lost the rights to them. Plus it's not up to Zavvi what they release and when.

I don't know what all the fuss is about with these Pirates releases, they look great to me. Just because the art has been seen before doesn't automatically make it bad - if the original poster art looked good then why bother changing it?! I don't really give a damn about the back art, so maybe that's where I differ.

Give me this over some arty farty crap any day.

HMV does not own any lifelong rights to ANY film! Please if im wrong then post your proof instead of just personal opinion

Also how do you know how zavvi selects there steelbooks again proof please!

Zavvi for the majority of there exclusives don't select the choice of steelbooks
They are approached by the film studios we have this steelbook we have decided to release
Zavvi have contracts with some of the film studios for exclusives decided by the film studios
There is also times when films studios approach number of retailers we are considering doing a steelbook for this film do you want it as an exclusive
A steelbook release can available on general release to all retailers with no risk to the retailer or as exclusive were the retailer is committing to a set number of stock up front with no return of sale allowed or its decided not to do the release

Zavvi have on a very small number of releases approached the film studios would they do a steelbook for a particular film and the film studio agrees or says no when its this type of release its usually a joint operation on the artwork and finish but the film studio has final say on all artwork

Most of the UK steelbooks releases were decided by the film studio not the retailer

Some exclusives are time limited can be 3 months 6 months or a year some have release clauses from either side but that rare
After this time has elapsed the film studio can decide to do a re release on general release or as another exclusive with another retailer but this only happens with a very small number of releases
If its a very popular release the film studio can just do a re release of a exclusive deal that has expired it can be exact same or new design as they own the rights to the distribution

Also retailers who had an exclusive are often are left with unsold stock and sell it to an overstock company who then sells it to other retailer or all retailers

I guess the result of the argument about HMV is that maybe Disney decided that since there had already been a steelbook released, they weren't gonna release a new one, match or no match.
Now, having said that, COME ON ZAVVI, WE WANT THIS LIVE!!

I think most die-hard POTC fans (if there really is such an animal!) consider the series a Trilogy and ignore the (bigger) cash grab that is the fourth.

Im a pretty die hard fan for these films, i love the whole pirate thing and i agree i see them as a trilogy but i do like the 4th better than the 3rd.

Im just so happy there are pirate steels coming :)
