The future of PlayStation is all about great games and entertainment, and at PlayStation Meeting 2013, we brought some of the brightest and most creative minds from the development community on stage to unveil the games that will define PS4. A partial initial lineup for PlayStation 4 includes first-party games from Guerilla Games (Killzone: Shadow Fall), Sucker Punch (inFamous Second Son), Evolution Studios (Driveclub), and Japan Studio (Knack), as well as titles from our partners such as Activision/Bungie (Destiny), Blizzard Entertainment (Diablo III), Capcom (Deep Down), and Ubisoft (Watch_Dogs). PlayStation also reinforced its commitment to self-publishing and the independent development community by having Jonathan Blow onstage who gave a sneak peek of his upcoming title The Witness. Finally, the incredible minds at Media Molecule and Quantic Dream gave glimpses of their conceptualization process and the future of gameplay with some remarkable footage. We only scratched the surface at the event, and will have many more exciting titles to come.

Our next generation console will change the way you interact with friends while you play. PlayStation 4 lets you instantly share images and videos of your favorite gameplay moments on Facebook with a single press on the DUALSHOCK 4 controller’s “share” button. You can also broadcast while you play in real-time through Ustream, allowing friends to comment or jump into your game in new ways.

With PlayStation 4 we also want you to access your games quicker than ever before. PS4’s “suspend mode” eliminates the load time on your saved game and allows you to immediately return to where you left off by pressing the power button. PlayStation 4’s background downloading and updating capability also allows you to immediately play digital titles as they download, or update the system when the hardware is powered off.

DUALSHOCK 4 adopts the familiar form factor of the DUALSHOCK 3 wireless controller with some key enhancements:
  • - Motion control is enabled by a new highly sensitive six-axis sensor
  • - Dual analog sticks fine-tuned for better precision plus improved surface materials and shape for more delicate manipulation
  • - L2/R2 buttons on the top of the controller employ a curved design for easier, smoother interaction
  • - A new “Options” button combines the functions of the DUALSHOCK 3’s “Select” and “Start” buttons for operating in-game menus

You can see more images of the new DUALSHOCK 4 controller here.

Picked up a 1.5TB hard drive to put into my PS4 day one, then it's time to start playing :LOL:

Have to work the launch day, then I'll be taking my preordered console home and playing all weekend

I honestly don't know why people keep on "expecting" significant improvements in a "new" Call of Duty game. For years now, they have talked out of their asses in regards to what's new, what's better and just how "great" this new Call of Duty will be. They refuse to develop a new engine, for they would rather claim to have made major changes to the old one that will "supposedly" bring the new (but old) CoD game to a whole new level. Last i read, their excuse is that it simply takes too long to create a new game engine. I mean, really? How long have the release dates for Next Gen consoles been known to the world?

This is truly a pathetic joke, and people keep on encouraging them not to change their "business model" by buying into the same old crap year after year. Because, hey...it's CoD, right? It's sad to see what this has come to. The original CoD and it's sequel on PC were amazing games, and it truly upsets me to see what these idiots have done with the franchise.

Just look at this clip, and tell me this is not the lowest, most despicable kind of crap for a "game developer" to pull off, purely motivated by making easy money while being lazy.

So had a good 30-45 minute play on the PS4 last night, having a game on Fifa 14, Assassins Creed 4 and COD: Ghosts

Must admit I was very impressed at the level of detail on-screen and it's reaffirmed my decision to go with the PS4

Also worth noting that GAME in the UK have got a tonne of bundle choices in now for the PS4, and I've switched my pre-order over to them who have guaranteed a 'before Xmas' delivery

Fifa was very good, definatly a noticeable step-up from the PS3. No loading time, no rendering it was all very smooth and flowed superbly.

I've gone for their mega bundle-

* Console w/ Kill Zone
* Extra Controller
* Battlefield 4
* PS4 camera

£489

I still don´t know if i will get a PS4 on release. I preordered one in May but i was told by Müller that i will be informed 2 weeks before release if i get one or not. I was the first one to order there but who knows? I did order there because my mother and sister work there and i can get an 30% discount. That would at least be 2 games. I´m worrying right now because they still can´t tell me if the store will get at least 1 console. Müller is a big chain and they only get very few consoles so not every store of them will get one. :ohno:

My Target got them in last night. I got to touch one! (with my *hand) =) Anyhow we only had 8 presell cards, but got 33 ps4's. I think there will be plenty to go around this holiday season, so don't buy high on ebay! (Unless it's my auction)

How about games? Have you received those yet? It sucks we are getting taxed on amazon now. If they don't match targets 3for2, can you POSSIBLY help me obtain 3 games? Any idea how target is handling the Friday games in regards to the promotion? Will I be able to preorder one of those for the offer?

Did you guys see every PS4 at launch will have a 30 day trial os PS plus, music unlimited and a $10 PSN credit.

Yes, the Day One Launch Edition.
I wouldn't mind Amazon matching either, The US border is 3.5 hours from my house, and then another 3.5 hours to the nearest Target :angry:

Maybe amazon will.. but have they in the past on the b2g1 sales??

The only game that has come in so far is the COD. No idea on how many copies of the games we'll get. They will all get put out on tuesday AM.. so if you are worried about getting them on Friday am. Go on Tuesday AM and get them. I am not back at work until Mon. I am def doing the B2G1 on Tuesday instead of Friday, so all I need to do is pick up the Eye and the ps4 on launch.

I can try to assist if needed.

Great news on the 30 day trial, because I didn't want to get PS+ until I black friday where it's on sale at gamestop.

And Drum... :emb: :D

Doesn't opening the system to install anything void the warranty?

Installing the proper sized hdd, does not void the warranty.

WHAT IF THAT was just the Right side of the and not the left :hilarious:

Very true, I also wonder if the wrapped up boxes are also PS4's.

Iv got the Killzone bundle pre-ordered with Amazon (PS4, Killzone, Extra Dualshock 4 + Camera)

Seeing as the complete retail package of just the console is so small I am hoping that the bundles will come just the same as the solo console but in the bigger bundle outer box, much like they do with the PS3 bundles.
