If I want any I can only order through a group buy due to no international shipping or I get them off eBay if I wanted one after release

Target now do seem to offer shipping of certain goods to UK ( and maybe other countries). I haven't ordered directly due to costs and the likelihood of getting a damaged steelbook.

It Don't work with blu_ray releases already tried it months ago
When you get to checkout it will say item not available others have also had the same result
It works with some items but not blu-rays

Just to further clarify Paul's statement - I think this is because of studio restrictions - USA studio is not always the studio in other countries. Seems like Target doesn't want to invite that drama by shipping a region locked disc or disc to other territories outside of the USA.

use @apsmith21 groupbuys for 2 reasons
1.quality steel provided
2.they don't ship internationally, but in all honesty much prefer andy looking over them than getting here with a spine slash, best buy shipping is not known for its quality i'm sure andy has to take some back. poor bloke

basil

I often plan on 10 - 20% being returned due to damages. I think with one recent group buy, I returned 1 out of 3 copies (spine slash, etc).

Not good odds unfortunately! :(

I tend to use the GB because I'm lazy and would rather not deal with retail lol. Also if there are any major damages, @apsmith21 has taken care of me in the past, so that covers the GB fee and shipping even though I'm in the States. The upcoming SW I did instore pickup because of a $20 reward coupon I had. I'm hoping its a good experience..

Personally I'd rather deal with target than BB. I'll never order online from either though (for steels only of course).

When I've been in the states I have been known to get off the highway at the next junction because I've seen a Best Buy sign! So far I've always bought in store even though I'm in England. I don't think I've ever bought a Target steelbook, although I wish I'd bought American Sniper when I was last there.

I buy through GB mostly, BB and Target are not overseas friendly, so it's down to the solid GB's on HDN, very grateful for the GB's made available for us.

Best Buy returns have been a nightmare for me. Have so many stories about having to wait over 30 minutes for them to fix something to process a return. Target is super easy, never a problem - I'm out of there in less than 10 minutes usually.

I might have an extra of American Sniper. Give me a shout if you'd like it (sorry for the derail, just trying to help)

They have bad quality control in store for my experience. There always seems to be some dents and a lot of the time there are spine slashes.

Online is the way to go for me

As a rule of thumb, I only purchase Canadian release SteelBooks, so I go to Best Buy (or other applicable retailers) and buy them at opening on launch day. However, on the odd occasion where there is a SteelBook from another country I'm interested in, somehow I missed a copy, or in hindsight I wished I'd bought something I didn't; I'll order online or via group buy.

I'd prefer to order them online, since either store is a 20+ minute drive, but the quality control for US steels is so low that I always end up needing to go to the store to pick out a copy. Even ordering multiples online, it seems like I always end up with scratched/dented copies that I need to return and pick a nice copy in store.
