Hey guys and girls. I don't remember ever reading a thread about people's preferences on price tags. I know stickers are really important to some people and can greatly effect value (IE iron man FS and many others). But what about price tag stickers. Are they good or bad?

For instance I have multiple copies of the town FS. One with the price sticker and others without. Does it make a difference?

Personnally, I hate price stickers!!! BUT, for rare steels/IP such as IM, IB, Indy and Chinesse IP, those stickers means a lot in $$$ value

They seem a bit annoying as they get in the way of the artwork. But I think for OCD collectors they'd want those included. I've never seen an iron man FS with the price sticker. Hmmm

do the price stickers really mean a lot in value? I understand the original manufacturer stickers, but I don't see how a price tag sticker affixed in-store could increase value.

Price stickers don't matter to me as I open all my steels, so they go in the garbage with the shrinkwrap and backing sheets

So I wouldn't pay more for a steelbook that had the price sticker, personally

Im not too fussy about price stickers. If it's a rare steelbook perhaps but otherwise I would prefer them off.

I can see mayflower cringing as he reads what you wrote about the backing sheet :hilarious:

From tigerqc (back in the days... don't ask him now):

dislike price stickers, i dont think they increase the value of any steels at all

other stickers such as "future exclusive" or "best buy exclusive" are a different story though...

Added a poll. Thanks for all the input. Feel free to vote now :)

Hopefully I represented all the options well.

I guess I could have made a "depends on the steel" option. Oh well. Too late now :p

if it's already there..then okay... Hell no... I'm not going to pay extra for a sticker. If it's sealed and mint, then I'm all there.

Question though..

1. Sealed with a dent, but has a STICKER on it.
2. Sealed in mint condition with NO sicker on it.

Which one do you choose :) That should tell you what's more important :)

The one without the dent. DUH!!! :hilarious:

Well of course sealed and mint no sticker. I think most would agree mint trumps sticker.

I'm just wondering if people have a preference when a steel is mint and sealed. Price sticker or not.

I used to not care... but now I am starting to keep the price stickers for the semi-rare Steelbooks (do not care for the Alliance ones though).

I'm pretty much in agreement with you on all of this. I open my alliance steels as they are usually my favorite, but won't be super valuable in the future IMO

I'm a sticker hater and I do consider myself OG & as OCD as I can be but hell man those price stickers or any advertisement kinda sticker on the front of the steelbook just ruins it for me because I don't remove the seals so at least I want a clean looking steelbook so I can display, as for (and especially) FS; BB or certain store manufacturer I try to keep them unless they are damn ugly like the HMV ones hehe), I say a minty mint looking steelbook is better than 2 sealed but damaged copies and with all those stickers, that's just me :)

Leaflets, front/back semi/full-slips etc are a must of course but stickers in general man are nothing but a distraction on a lovely looking steelbook
