According to ZeroX39 there is a possible steelbook planned for this title and I quote as an question whether the release will have a steelbook or not:

Saw the movie this past weekend and it was quite enjoyable.

I could envision an embossed "Prometheus" title and/or the Prometheus spacecraft on the front cover and the "alien" on the back. Thoughts?

Why not just grab at region free player? I bought a Toshiba BDX3200, installed the Australian firmware and bam! It now plays region A, B and C titles and it only cost £75. There's no excuse not to go region free anymore.

my BD player is multi-region all the way

my 3D player though is Region B locked as there isn't any mods for it yet

With all the craze, I think we should be more surprised if movies DON'T get steelbook version

I am crossing my fingers for the cover art to have one of the official poster artworks. This was also great in 3D, so we will see if the steelbook will have a 3D version or not.

Fox is Region Locking almost every new release in the US but offering it Region Free elsewhere. So, this one may follow suit.
