DAD'S ARMY

Sorry computer won't have me drag and drop the ninja's, so I thought I'd improvise, Hateful Eight and the Revenant were both epic, outstanding film's IMO, as for Dad's Army (2016) some performance's were a descent effort and other's were awful, again just my opinion.

THE WITCH

Pretty. But a painfully slow and unevenful slog. I "get" that it is based on actual stories from the period, and I have no trouble with deliberately paced films, and I had no trouble with the period dialog. But even the denouement elicits a shrug. It's just not a great story. (And I found that many reviewers alluding to anti-religious messages were specious, at best. I don't think there was a "message" about that at all). It was an interesting attempt, and kudos for that - it did have some nice atmosphere - but, it just isn't that interesting. (And be prepared to ride your contrast button on the remote- there are scenes that are rendered too dark (even if just for effect)).

I agree, it was painfully slow. Still, I thought it was all right for that type of movie. It was a interesting watch, but one time watch only.
The first and last 5 minutes were awesome though.

I liked what it was trying to do. I do. I just wish they got there.

yes. do check it out. slow film. but not in a bad way.

I first watched 13 hours (not as bad I thought it would be) then calvary. totally different kind of beasts. wish calvary and films alike got more attention. this one deserves it.roger ebert wrote a great review ...
