Cardboard Gangsters
Surprisingly I enjoyed this. Gritty Irish gangster film.

yeah, better than expected. This movie is so creepy and mysterious.
That boy... OMG. He (aka "It") must be the most annoying on-screen character I've ever seen. xD
Haha yeah...
...think I would've locked the kid in the car much sooner than the guy did.

I imagine this was a pretty cool and original concept back in the day, meaning I probably would've enjoyed it more had I seen it 20 years ago.

Some of the fantasy scenes and SFX was quite well done but didn't save an otherwise confusing and rushed movie.

I've not read the books so don't know how much source material made its way into the movie.
I think this is a problem with alot of franchises/movies where the rich and plentiful background of the source material doesn't get translated well into movie, leaving the audience lost with the storyline.
There has been a few that have succeeded but I think I can count them all on 1 hand.

I think the problem is a lack of excellent scriptwriters and creative talent. Films today seem to be written by committee rather than creative talent. And sadly it's showing big time. I've lost count of the amount of times now I'm seeing 12 or 16 producers on a film or TV show. As soon as I hear the words "From the producers of " you know it's going to be a turkey......

That's about enough of John Boyega screaming every damn line that I can deal with for my lifetime.

P.S. Anyone else think the young girl in this is a spitting image of ASMR Darling?
