Definitely passing. It's a joke that a film like Robocop is getting a matte finish. They also cheaped out on the inside with the black and white. I'll wait for a proper steelbook.
I like the Canadian futurepak but it's not worth twice as much as this.

i think it looks great, got my order in when it was cheap so definitely keeping it. Dont get why theres so much hate with matte finish. Couple of my favourite steels are matte. Definitely not a deal breaker for me. i also enjoyed the movie so win win
Matte finishes used to be quite nice and smooth but the majority these days are very poor rough streaky finishes. That's why when you compare it to gloss the gloss finish gets so much love.
Also I think peeps have the remastered glossy steelbook so would have been nice if the finish was the same, especially as imo it suits the artwork better than a matte finish does
Just finished watching this, was well and truly surprised by how I much I enjoyed it. Ofcourse it's not even a patch on the original but if he'd wore that kick ass silver suit a bit more with the original theme playing over and over it might not be far off...as for the steel I've seen better but I might just be tempted....
I have cancelled mine for the moment. There is no point rewarding studios when the real feedback should be that they can do better.
Anyone in the US getting this or are you getting the BB exclusive Futurepak?
getting the German one since i'm getting other stuff so i will be saving shipping.....still not convinced about the metal, but i must confess the front is nicer than this one...

The BB futurepak for sure. I'll still get a steelbook as well though not this version. Asian most likely or German (FSK sticker). A decision will then be made once both are in hand. Did the same with 2 Guns. Preferred the futurepak in that case

The stark difference between the 2 releases is what I find quite intriguing. Futurepak vs Steelbook. Black artwork vs white artwork.
The good thing is that all the steels look the same and should be easy to acquire even after release
Nice Steelbook this, real pity about the movie, was not expecting it to be good as the original but was expecting better, think I'll skip this one.
