I certainly would NOT say they failed as the product is well and truly SOLD OUT !

lets be honest- it would have sold out regardless of what art they used on the cover. the franchise has a massive, devoted fan base, plus the film is critically acclaimed. add to that the fact steelbooks are 'collectable' and you have a product that will sell. the fact it sold out isnt a reflection of how successful the design is.

The US version was good, and is still in stock.
I like this steelbook so I'll be buying it. Perhaps as the Zavvi version has the titles on, more people from Europe may order this one.

I'd love that as a full slip, with gloss for the characters and a bumpy texture (not sure of the technique name) for the Death Star, maybe not for the steel itself, but yeah still a massive improvement!

This is going for silly money in eBay. Last week one ended at 53 !!!!!!!!! I missed to pre-order this but those who pre-ordered but don't like this Steel can easily offload this for 40 making a good profit and using that to fund the Blufans release.

That's some price for a pretty disappointing looking steelbook but I guess the collectors of every edition want it regardless.

If it is really sold out I always turn to Amazon France, Italy, or Germany to do the job. Same steel, just different data sheet language. I didn't pre-order as I thought there be plenty hanging around just like Force Awakens.

Ordered cancelled, so theres at least one cancellation coming back in stock! Just cannot justify the price with such rubbish art.

As always @Noodles designs were FAR superior. As will be the Blufans! Will get the slipped version amaray for now

U.K. Is only one with spine title out of those you mentioned so in this case not the same. And I think all zavvi marvel/ Star Wars/ Disney etc going forward will also have spine titles

Prob also why it's going for silly money on the secondary market.
This will no doubt come back after release but maybe not for long like strange
