Honestly, even as someone that quite likes the extra features and watches them when available, the Italian release's exclusive disc really isn't anything to get excited about. It's just three interviews and a photo gallery after all. I'm assuming it's a rights issue due to the content belonging to the Italian national broadcasting company.

Combine that with the region locking, PAL broadcast concerns if it's SD, and you've got a very strange thing to get in an argument about - even for a Kimchi thread. :movie: :naughty:

The Star Trek Into Darkness extras kerfluffle or other botched retailer exclusives, I could see. But that's neither here nor there for this release.

Me? I'll be opening up the Rush full slip and watching the movies/extras and flipping through the book. If you can resist opening this one up, you've got a hell of a lot more willpower than I do.

INT ARTWORK #3 was my least favorite choice, honestly. But I don't hate it. I actually matches the theme of the Lenti Edition perfectly. But for the full slip, #1 or #2 would have went better.

My rules:
1) I always open all of my editions -> to have fun with the release, to see how it looks like, what additional stuff it has, make some photos for those who are interested. You know, it's like having very nice car...you have to take it for a spin once in a while:)

2) I always watch all extras -> exeption: if you hvae extras for 4h and one hour is just video blogs from the set...i just rewind it.

3) After opening i try to preserve my edition as good as possible. Sleevs, hard cases etc.

Love this forum and all the hot debates it comes with once in a while, I normally sit back and enjoy but this time I want to be part of it :D :p

Nah seriously guys I have respect to both of U, Chip & lgans, I have nuff love for both of U ;)

I do not mind it when lgans throws in some innocent criticism here and there, it spices things up a little and just because he is opinionated it doesn't mean he's a pain in the a$$ basher, he simply likes to share his thoughts and I'd say 70% of the time I disagree with him :hilarious: BUT I still respects what he has to say :D (I def would not mind extra contents thrown in to the mix, the more the merrier even though I do not open my Asian releases but I agree with him on this, I like them heavy, more discs/contents extras and goodies hehe)

Now Chip, you have my support too, Asian release FTW for shizzle, no real need for any content additions to make them anymore special as they are selling out and becoming sought after anyway (WEA/Awesome Slip/wicked extras etc), and yes most hardcore collectors do not open up their Asian steelbook releases (and before some of U jump in at me: that does not mean that we buy to sell nah U soo wrong guys we just cherish them more 'been there done that', all U noobs will sooner or later realize that it was a huge mistake U opened them up when U first got into steels :p)... having said all that I certainly would not mind them coming with additional discs too but it's NOT a necessity ;)

So to sum it up, I love U both and I agree with U alike, we all have different opinions and I for one welcome both types of criticism, that's what makes forums interesting ;)

Now back to topic, Choi does this release come with any extra contents by any chance? :hilarious: {Just messn' with ya :D}

Well I open all my special edition steels, (1/4 slips stay sealed)
I have been collecting for a long time. And I want to see the whole package and the beauty of the steel. Then their bagged, tagged, protected sleeved, displayed....Bla,Bla,Bla......:hilarious:

There are a lot of us that want to see the whole package and not just the outside covered in cling [email protected] we are not noobs!! :ass: :p

I have said it before and I will say it again I don't want shelf after shelf of unopened steels like I'm running a Walmart in my living room! :hilarious:
I buy for my own collection and not to resell or trade so I want to see my steels naked in all their beauty.
I know the value drops when you open then but I don't care as I buy for the beauty of the package not what the value will or will not be down the road. I will more than likely take them to my grave. :D

We all collect in different ways and no one way is right or wrong.....;)

Now this baby will will be opened when it arrives to see the full package in all it's glory. And I know there's only 700 full slip, so yes it's pretty limited...lol
Then OCD carefully bagged and put on display to drool over......
:scat: :hilarious:

I used to hold this opinion. Now, almost four hundred Steelbooks later, I wonder why I ever did. Instead of building a collection of premium editions, I have built a collection of some really nice Steelbooks but also a lot of mediocre ones and some downright terrible ones. I really regret it now and wish I had been more selective.

One thing I appreciate about you, you like the crap, and openly admit it. At first many of us did the same thing, and also regretted it.

We all have our own tastes and opinions. It's humorous and sad, some resent businesses that make an effort to compete by providing something a little different and of higher quality. With excellent business practices and outstanding customer service. Creating demand that attracts those want a premium release and a true collectable.

Any retailer can produce premium releases, but why should they. Some people buy quality and some buy crap. ;)

Back to release. Kimchi restricts release to max 2 or 3 copies of each per user. This is obviously not working, as eBay has sellers selling 6 copies. Surly Kimchi would prefer the steels to go to collectors, before the eBay sharks ! So why not have GB's ! At least the collectors get a fair chance without competing with it sharks !

I really love my UK Steel but after some consideration I think this one fits the feel of the movie better. Looks like I'll bite and get one off ebay when it is released.

And some of those EBay sharks are here also.
