Additional info from Noodles

Just been chatting to Elliot Cardona (the guy who designed the artwork) and he confirmed that this has "a matte finish with a Pantone red and embossed lettering." Shame it's not gloss, but I can live with it being matte because I like the artwork so much. Can't wait for this one!

Wait, are we talking about penii again? :oohyeah:

I'm a tad disappointed I didn't preorder Rush (and I preorder almost everything usually), because at some point amazon lowered it to £19.00 I think, but still very happy I snagged one at £21.50 the day before it sold out.

It looks glorious, I'm going to watch the film for the first time tonight :

I held off going to see Captain Phillips and Prisoners in theaters for the exact same reason, I knew there would be a steelbook edition for both of them :) (I'm getting the French one (FNAC) for Capitaine Phillips and the German one for Prisoners), and I know the chances of me loving those three films are about 99.99%. I saved a few bucks by doing so (this steelbook collecting addiction tends to be expensive).

For the past few months, when I have a say in the matter, when I go to the cinema I try to go and see only films I'm almost convinced will NOT have a steelbook edition, unless it's films I'm extremely excited about (e.g : Gravity or Wolf of Wall Street - it was predictible they'd get the steelbook treatment, but still) :

  1. Don Jon (above average romantic comedy).
  2. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (average animated film that isn't Disney/Pixar).
  3. 12 Years a Slave (amazing Oscar film).
  4. The Wind Rises (the UK released a few Miyazaki films in steelbook, so who knows, but I'd be surprised if they followed through and released the rest of Miyazaki's filmography).
  5. Mea Culpa (actually it's typically the kind of film that'd get a steelbook, as it's a great hard-boiled action movie, but it's French, and there are barely 4-5 French films getting the steelbook treatment each year).
  6. Minuscule: la Vallée des Fourmis Perdues (amazing mute (no dialogue, just sounds!) French animated film).
  7. Jack et la Mécanique du Coeur (lovely poetic French animated film).

Those are the only films (+ Gravity + Wolf of Wall St.) for which I purchased a ticket over the past 4 and a half months, given how so many films are announced in steelbook before they even get released in theaters!

Though I would be glad and very surprised if either of these 7 films eventually get a steelbook edition :).

I ordered mine for 24£ through amazon.co.uk or (speedyhen ltd).

Still haven't got mine. My order went through 30 Jan.

Did anyone here got their copy from speedyhen ltd? Im worry i won't get mine :(

I emailed and told them about my situation and they said they would send a new one right away but it's out of stock. BUT they said they will get new stock in about 3-5 weeks?

Do they lie to me? To keep me waiting for getting a refund?

What do you think?

prices on this on the bay have seemed to come down off the roof on this one now seem to be around the £25-£35 mark now instead of £50 mark before hand.

Ebay got flooded for a while, they dropped to around £35, ive not seen a copy go under £30. Theres not as many on ebay as there was so it may go back up again, supply and demand ;)
