So, it looks like matte finish. Still nice, though and I'm growing tired of the white stretch marks left on the edges of glossy steels (I'll still get glossy steels but it's a pet peeve nonetheless). I also noticed a review for this release on Amazon.De. I did Google translate and it mentioned having lossless audio and that it includes 5 postcards along with some kind of poster. Good stuff, good price. I'm all in on this one.

Thanks to Fex113 @bluray-disc.de

Inside the steelbook there are postcards and one poster.
The back is very disappointing - I don't understand why they didn't take a scribbled design on back too (maybe the puppet).

"The back is completely naked in red. Internal pressure exists. The finish is a metallic finish"
from German forum (thanks to Rene X 79)
I posted this on the german forum, not Rene X 79. Thanks [emoji6] Was in hurry, because of this i just took the one low quality picture of the front...

So a plain red back and 'internal pressure' I take it, is inside artwork? So that's included.

They swapped around the 'Lionsgate' and 'Studiocanal' logos at the bottom also. Just looks a little more cluttered as the Studiocanal logo is very dark.

Think I'll cancel. The front does nothing for me and there's no excuse for a plain red back. I thought the puppet on the bike would have been on it :(
You are 'misremembering' SAW. The Original movie did not use the puppet as its iconography. It was the sequels ran with the puppet iconography. The Jawclamp was the iconography of the first film. So the cover is perfect- it is the original one-sheet (albiet red).

I knew that. But seeing as the puppet made the FRONT COVER of the previous German Steelbook, (https://www.hidefninja.com/community/threads/saw-unrated-blu-ray-steelbook-germany.14743/) I figured something was better than nothing on the back cover this time.

I can't say I see any 'metallic' effect on this from that pic. And what's going on with the edge of the opening side on the right? Looks like it's got a serious defect??

I don't understand German steelbook designers. Have they not seen most steels? For example now instead of a printed back, they do a blank back? They need to catch up! And Studiocanal is so cheap with their black and white inside arts.

At that price point, I really am not gonna complain.
I like it.
It has the right image for the front. It is the one-sheet poster image.
Not the stupid puppet.
That, in itself, is a win.

im stunned to see that this is Region Free coming from StudioCanal, 99% of their steels are region locked

definitely a nice surprise and made the purchase a must buy
