I'm curious as to what it is. I personally don't mind if "premium" members get in on it first. That IS why they are "premium", right? If it sells out, it's not going to be the end of the world. Maybe it's because I don't care about "exclusivity" or "limited quantities" that I don't see a need to freak out over this. :dunno: And most of the time, what retailers call "exclusive" are the same steels being released world wide with a different piece of paper or sticker stuck to it. If the design on the steel is the same, I would purchase the cheapest one available.

ninja sign up closed.

at this time ... if your a ninja (new) and need on the list PM me and i can check your time stamp

WOW! EEK! Glad I didn't wait another couple of minutes!

Actually you can still support the site by hitting the Donate button here or at the top of the page. Doesn't come with fringe benefits of being a :ninja: mind. So do that as well. :D

no one will be forced to support the site but i donated because i want to keep the lights burning here-without HDN i would have never been able to join the GB for Wreck it Ralph for example.:D:thumbs:

believe what you want but it wasnt our intention to force Ninja subs. (cool that it did tho) ... notice if you go back to the first person who leaked that info it was no mod nor staff.

I have closed off the ninja sign up as fast as I could update the list ... the fact was many were becoming ninjas and requesting faster then I could update the list.

I had to take the daughter to school so that didnt help matters ... but i guess it helped some Ninjas tho.

Firstly this site is by far the best community site I've ever been involved in. I've made loads of good buddies on here. I'm all for as many people as possible supporting HDN from a financial point of view.

I can also understand some comments in here and why certain people have said things that they have.

I think if there was greater transparency in terms of this title from the start and becoming a Ninja would ensure you secure you a copy, it would have gone down a lot better with all.

Just my two cents...

I think it's great to see a forum where you are rewarded for loyalty. It's cool to be producing your own steels for members. I only recently started collecting them and already have 12 plus 5 on order lol. Guess I'm addicted now!

It is reserved only for premium members ?

Thx

Non...;)

Hi Tobin, no it is not reserved for premium members. Our 'Ninjas' received the news that an Exclusive was coming, first, which was one of the things that are part of the membership (advance news, exclusive giveaways, and other features which you can review at your leisure). The whole community will have a chance to take part in purchasing this special release. Thanks everyone for questions sent via PM, and for your continued support of your HDN community! :scat:

I still haven't seen anyone confirm or deny that you need premium membership to purchase the steel. Is there any clarification on this or will that be revealed soon?

Edit:

Should've refreshed before I posted, damn. Nice.

Can't you just move on from this thread, we got it you don't like it...

You even suggested people become a member. How was this a cash grab for members who were ninjas already

I'm glad someone has finally acknowledged a post of mine, they seem to get lost amongst the pages and pages of HDN worship. I love the site, I love how we get exclusive information and our say in upcoming releases. I love how Wreck tries to get our message across to those who make the decisions. What I don't love is the site trying to take advantage of collectors. Essentially this is a money maker for the site. You've got the cost of the release itself, then all of the new Ninja sign-ups, the sponsored links, the shameless promotion of certain retailers. This has become less about being a resource for collectors but more about lining the pockets of those who run the site. I have no problem with people making money from their site by the way, just how it is being attempted here.

Very cool. Excited to find out what it is. Funny, like so many, I had no idea that the Ninja icon meant that somebody was a premium member. I am on here daily, and actively involved in many threads and discussions, and still had no idea.

I would have no problem signing up, but I just saw this thread for the first time about an hour or so ago and, in reading through all 17 pages, I just saw that Wreck closed the gates a few minutes ago for becoming a new "Ninja".

At any rate, this is really cool that HDN is doing this. With Wreck's involvement in several of the latest Zavvi steels, and now this new HDN exclusive, it's pretty apparent that there's some real benefit to being a contributing member here and I think the steelbook community as a whole (retailers included) is recognizing that.

A special shoutout to digitalbabe for post #276. Not brown nosing I promise, but I wanted to call attention to it because represents well that the folks on Staff here are a class act.

Thanks!

So I guess you have inside info as to the costs involved in making this an exclusive? You seem to assume there are no additional costs at all. All the items being added cost $$$. Should HDN lose money in doing this??? Stop misleading members here. You have made your point that you dont like it. JUST MOVE ON
