I'll be happy to point you to the exact thread where you can post a request on adding the steelbook to there system. But I wouldn't be suprised it gets deleted...

They can't stand how great this forum is and how wonderful the people that make it happen, are!

Its because although this release is official on this forum it isnt anywhere else in the world. Basically it doesnt count, its a nothing, thats why this is taking ages to sell out and steelbooks like GI joe sold 2000 in less than 24 hours as they are official. This is still a fantastic release though but only for people in this forum, no one else will touch it with a barge pole. Still big congrats on HDN on this release.

I find this somewhat of an oxymoron of a response, but the important thing is you appreciate this release for what it really is

HDN is very close to the heart of Steelbook collecting and this is a limited version of a Steelbook which should signal the start of something quite promising for HDN exclusives, so it does count and is more than nothing regardless of which forum someone frequents. I'd love to see the stats on how many of those new ninjas, who suddenly appeared in order to obtain a copy, came from other forums. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, the point is that they are definitely keen to touch it with a barge pole so there is significance to this release.

If people look at the start of the Jack Reacher (ES) thread, the first posts are full of folks saying who the hell are ES and this isn't a proper release. Now they are all in agreement that ES are bringing out some of the more sought after UK steels we've seen in a while (based on speed of sell through) whether they like them or not. When HDN are on exclusive #3 and it's a blockbuster title then they will be selling through in a day too, trust me

This first exclusive of HDN will carry true weight in the future, I'm very sure of that, and will be a deserved addition to any forums' database. But pride will probably always get in the way of that happening. As long as it's in the HDN database then that's good enough for me anyway

and for what its worth ... its already sold out. Still need to do some tinkering to get an official # but we're technically not taking any more orders until then. Only things we're taking now are reserves incase there is some extra spots or people back out etc.

This is very well put, i would have to disagree though and not partly but totally.

Firstly this has nothing to do with any ES release who are a retailer not a forum. ES also have very very strong links with Paramount which is in case anyone is not sure a major studio.

This forum has minor links with retailers such as Zavvi where this steelbook was sourced from.

This release is completely different in that it is sourced from a retailer and not the studios, which is why in my honest opinion it will never be classed as official by anyone other than this forum.

To put it bluntly, anyone with the cash and links to the retailer could have done a deal for these.

Please dont let this detract from the release though. A huge amount of work has gone into this from good people on this forum. and beleive me even more work will be required to pull all the money in from each buyer this is no easy task. Fair play to the guys who have put that work in. \But lets face facts, this will never be official and will never command big bucks like the ES releases. Just check ebay in the days to come and you will see that really this is classed asa nothing.

Wondering if you've ever collected anything else? - bootleg (and that's what you seem to implying this is) vinyl and CDs are often some of the most sought after releases with record collectors.

This won't (hopefully) be on eBay as people will at best get two copies and not the 10+ the scalpers usually bag with the ES releases et al.

Anyway 'value' isn't just about £ to some people - I love this website and this steel is something I'll be proud to own precisely because of all the hard work thats gone into including the wonderful design work by two of our very own Ninjas
