Those that support EB because they WANT the Cornetto Trilogy etc are completely deluded to the reality of what is going behind closed door in Ben's living room.
We all want to support a retailer that is having some hiccups.
  • EB gained our trust by taking three months of payment in advance.
  • We gave support on the 1st delay. No one complained.
  • We became cautious on the 2nd delay.
  • Then changes here and there that went along with the delays questions were being raised
  • Fine we were all willing to forget and forgive if they can actually ship it and still be a product most of us were expecting.
Moving on four weeks from dispatch date, we were provided a product which was not to the required standard we expected and the fact that there is extremely slow shipment with orders still unfulfilled, and no confirmation WHEN they WILL ALL be shipped. They have admitted there is an issue beyond their control which is completely nonsense. What that issue is we will never know 100% for sure.

You cannot ignore the fact there is a clear problem here. Look at the overall picture. We have a struggling retailer that has used our money in advance to fund for this release. The most likely scenario is they have financial problems which caused this set back, delays, and cost cutting measures. But yet they are still continuing to take money from pre-orders such as the Mummy whilst still working on SOD. If the company is on the brink of going bust they should not be allowed to keep fulfilling pre-orders and false promises. It's a breach of trust.

Just take a step back and think for a minute instead of the usual blah de blah be patience defense.

It's even more embarrassing for me to watch members here defend EB than see EB slowly crumble down.

OK, you didn't rate it yourself so you passed it on (or so you say) but at least 90% of other customers have few bad words to write about it and I'm guessing they must be overjoyed at your negative comments regarding the package they were happy to pay 60 quid for !
Aiiyaaa !. . . Saints preserve us !. . . damn, damn, double damn...and a full pint of damn for the weekend!
But.. but ...but 90% of the customers haven't received their Copy yet:LOL::rofl:

LOL Let's see . . .
So, now many here at HND ordered this ?
Names and order numbers, please

I'm guessing 50 at the very most and also guessing that most copies ordered by customers, not following HDN or other forum, went outside the U.K.

How many not received ?
Names and order numbers, please

. . . that most copies were ordered by people not in the U.K. seems logical as the concept of queuing / waiting to be served is an alien concept outside the U.K.

@Hereticz. You want something different . . . maybe of interest or maybe not depending on your liking of older films. . . Summer sale of Blu-rays over at Networkonair http://networkonair.com/137-BLU-RAY?page=3 with nearly all priced at just over a fiver each. Choice early titles include 4 pre-Hollywood Hitch - YOUNG AND INNOCENT, THE LADY VANISHES, SABOTAGE and THE MAN WHO KNEW TOO MUCH.
Later good'uns (IMO) include THE MEDUSA TOUCH, THE MONSTER CLUB, THE THIEF OF BAGDAD, BLACK NARCISSUS, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, TWINS OF EVIL, VICTIM, ODD MAN OUT, RANSOM, ROBBERY, LE BALLON ROUGE, ANIMAL FARM, HANDS OF THE RIPPER, COUNTESS DRACULA, DEADLIER THAN THE MALE, PERFECT FRIDAY and THE MAN WHO HAUNTED HIMSELF (the late Roger Moore's best part IMO) and later stuff such as HAWK THE SLAYER, LEON THE PIG FARMER, WEEKEND AT BERNIE'S, DREAM HOME, TO DIE FOR and THE LAST SEDUCTION.

Even if the company is on the brink of going bust they SURE THE HELL better be allowed to keep fulfilling pre-orders. That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. And I'll wait as long as I have to because this will be the only "normal" release for 'Shaun' in Steelbook form. No blue banner, no horizontal image, no cluttered Reel Heroes design, no Pop Art, and no Mondo art (the only one I refuse to own). Am I frustrated and annoyed at this point? You bet. But dwelling on it and complaining isn't going to change anything, so it's not worth my effort. I'll just wait patiently.

EB should start small since funding is a problem for them.
Absolutely.. . at this juncture in their development.
. . . and if they'd followed their own guidelines of retailing packages in the 600 - 800 quantity range none of this s***storm would have happened and this thread would have died a natural death before page 70 (lol)

All I can think is that EBlu got a good deal on the full consignment of 4,000 but I personally hope at least 500 steelbooks get offered as standalones by EBlu or by another retailer a few months down the line if/when exclusivity runs out.

If complaining doesn't change anything then why are you complaining about our complaining:whistle::whistle::whistle::LOL:

virkia, No offence but what exactly are you hoping to achieve here? There are people who simply don't have their orders and up until everythingblu were pressured into proving a meaningless update were expecting them to have been despatched over the bank holiday weekend.

That is a fact.

People have every right to voice their concerns. You, however, are contributing nothing of any use to this topic (and if my memory serves you skipped the release altogether?), it's starting to appear as is you're only posting for the sake confrontation.

No offence taken . . . but when you say "no offence" here in the U.K. it normally means quite the opposite . . . same as "with respect".

Anyway, it's all good and the question is sound.
What am I even doing here when I didn't even order the product and have no axe to grind ?
Let me answer that:
Firstly, even though I have little interest in this release, I did order THE MUMMY box so EBlu's future is of major importance to me and all the comments about them stealing peoples' money, going bust, gambling money from their releases on the horses, being generally dishonest and furtive and a number of other defamatory statements mean that I cannot sit idly by and not respond.
I'm sure any reasonable person can accept that.
If standing up for someone who can't answer back is wrong then I think that's wrong . . . and it should be clear that all I'm doing is attempting to counter some of the wild accusations made against EBlu and bring a measure of balance to the thread. Why am I even standing up for the underdog you may wonder . . . maybe it's just the way I was brought up.
I don't see anything wrong with that . . . and if you consider my posts "confrontational" then you should read some of the insulting things said about EBlu and about me by people on here over the last however many pages . . . things that really should not be allowed to pass but the mods don't seem to mind so who am I to question the wisdom of that . ..

Finally, Yes, of course, people have every right to voice concerns about their packages not being received so long after the revised 28th May release date and if it were only that I wouldn't even bother to comment.
The fact is that EBlu came on here very recently to apologise for the unforeseen delays and assured everyone that "all active orders will be fulfilled" so that should be good enough to put a stop to the unpleasantness but not a bit of it and if an apology from EBlu isn't good enough there's not much more that can be said.

My final thoughts:
- EBlu is just starting out but took on a larger release than they should have
- EBlu should stick to Blubox only releases of 1,000 units max
- EBlu are here for the long haul and in three years when they're putting out the best steelbook packages on the market nobody will even remember this thread.
- EBlu are following their dream so who am I to stand in their way

Thanks

Your post makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. All you have done is repeated the same nonsense that EB stated in their statement. That means nothing. End of story.

No offence taken . . . but when you say "no offence" here in the U.K. it normally means quite the opposite . . . same as "with respect".
Your taking others' replies and responses out of context and too literal, you need to ease off some.

If you stop to think things through you would have come to reason with the fact that nobody actually knows why things are the way they are with EB and when the comments of stealing and gambling or going bust you should have realized that they were superficial and hold no weight so by you challenging them only goes to show that your confrontational and the moderators as well as some staff members have had words with you about that very thing.

Your being obtuse and creating conflict when there should be none. As I've said to some of the others, do not engage with so and so and there will be no conflict, this is true for you as well. If you have trouble with someones comment constant berating and flamboyant negative responses is unnecessary. Debate is one thing and constant nagging others is another.

We have had discussions with you about the constant confrontational attitude that you've had with others via PM. Folks are becoming overly irritated by your constant berating and obtuse remarks and we've had numerous complaints over your attatude, ---please STOP and think before you type.

Would you not be better off posting in that thread then?

Yes, I suppose you're right although I can't see anything happening on that thread until we start receiving our packages and people start posting in-hand pics of the product.

As far as this thread is concerned I guess it's time for me to bow out as I've made my point so many times and been called obtuse in the bargain. The irony of that is certainly not lost on me

Anyway, sincerely hope that everyone gets their boxes by the end of this coming week.

This is a Straight up disgusting response/attitude for a staff member of a site/forum to have and its really makes this site look utterly pathetic when you let members sh*t all over another member/company over and over and over and over again. and the response of the staff is " hey guys its just a joke".
