I like this steelbook much more than the yellow one. I just cannot wait what kind of artwork they'll choose for the fullslip and how lenticular is going to be. As for the movie, I really enjoyed it. It had a great atmosphere, music and solid cast. Benicio Del Toro for example was great and I've always liked him very much. Still something was missing from the movie. I kinda hoped it would go into something real dark and much deeper into everything, but then it just ended and I felt like I wanted to see much more. It's a good film, but not the best one I've seen lately.

I saw the film, and I still don't think that that skull motif/drawing/tattoo whatever has anything to do with this movie.
It wasn't even used in adverts. What is the deal with the skull image? Anybody?

@C.C. 95 The skull artwork has been the basis of one of the official posters for the film since its nomination for the Palme d'Or at the 2015 Cannes International Film Festival.

The artwork was undoubtedly selected because it is the logo of the infamous Mexican Sinaloa Cartel, whose activities were the basis of the events depicted in the film.

All of the gang members shown in the film were heavily tattooed. Given Denis Villeneuve's attention to detail, I would assume that had their torsos been displayed then we would have seen this very image.

It's better than the WWA but isn't it just the same but reversed? And black instead of yellow? A little uninspiring.
That was my first thought too.
Same art but reversed. Yellow on black instead of black on yellow!

But this might end up having a nicer finish (debossed title?) and we just know the complete package is going to be awesome :)

Great News for a Steelbook from FilmArena with their special additions.
BUT i don't like the front art :ugh: its kind of weird, and too much mystery and useless details.
I however like the back art :) and the inside art too :joy:.
But i still don't like the front art, My opinion.:whistle::whistle: I still may buy it that depends :dunno:

Why did so many people assume this was going to use the WWA steelbook before the shots were released by FA? Was it ever stated that it was going to be WWA? @dan8885
Because usually FA just use the existing WWA Steelbooks (for new releases-Looper etc.... are an exception as they are back catalogue releases) and add the extras to them.

It's all to do with which company is distributing the title in the Czech Republic. If you examine the artwork of the various titles in the FAC, a pattern clearly emerges.

The WWA releases are those from the big multinationals (Sony, Fox, Universal, Paramount, Warner), hence the use of identical artwork to that found elsewhere.

Conversely, the WEA releases are from other companies (Studio Canal, Lionsgate, etc), which don't directly distribute their own product in the Czech Republic but license it to local Czech companies for domestic release. Hence, the potential for exclusive artwork not found elsewhere, since it's the local Czech company that calls the shots not the big multinational.
