Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

the multiple copies i placed is still intact from yesterday but it wasnt in double digits like 20 or 25.collectors and buyers with little looking into will realize that this steelbook will be readily available from different countries around the world.there will be plenty there to be had.so anyone paying a hefty price for this initially is just being completely lazy with little homework done in researching the MASS QUANTITY that will be around.

Exactly. I think anyone buying to resell isn't really going to make money on this. There's nothing overly unique about this particular Steelbook since it's the same design all over the world. That's my theory anyway.

I have the (KR,TW,AU, and Japan on order). Ordered this one as well because I did not want to open the others.

I think I need to see someone soon as the fever at which you can get carried away by the forum and members posts is like a runaway train at times.

Has anyone had there order confirmed as shipped yet? (Mine Hasn't) I've never used amazon's Pre order service before, But i know HMV & Play would have had them shipped by now. Generally they have there Pre Orders in the post Tuesday or Wednesday Before release date.

I think Amazon is a lot later than that. A lot of people don't recieve them on the release date.

Mine still 18th for shipping via amazon. HMV & Play shipping pre order item in 4 days before official release day?

Normally they send orders of multiples out by Citylink courier, so those would arrive on or before release date. But as they cancelled down a lot of the multiple orders for this one, I think a lot of people won't get it until next Tues/Weds.

Some people have more money that sense it seems so fair play. EIGHT copies of exactly the same design defies belief. Enjoy though...

Wait What!. Surely the point of pre ordering an item is so you get it on, or in many cases before the release date.
Not 5 days after. Play and HMV get this thats why they post out the week before the release date,
So you have them sometimes on the Friday but usually on the Saturday before the release date.
With HMV already gone and with Play only around for a few more weeks, it's going to be a sad state of affairs if Amazon don't pull their finger out and sort this out. But I suppose the length of time amazon have been around, if the don't already do it now they probably never will.

OK Rant Over. I feel so much better now.
