Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

serious let down the picture quality on the steelbook is very poor, not impressed, feel sorry for the idiots paying over the odds on ebay.

I wouldn't call them "idiots". Sometimes you have no other chance to get a steelbook except from ebay.

But I have to say I don't like the quality either. Would have been better if they had used colours instead of going with the "silver" look.

I wouldn't call them idiots either, I missed out on this one due to personal circumstances, when I was in a position to be able to order from Amazon they were all gone, so what am I supposed to do now? Yes I can get a French version for cheaper, but I don't want the French version so ebay is my only option. I am being patient atm to see if it does come back up on Amazon, but I am not hopeful.

Its the Taiwanese slipped steel. Yeah, I got it from jsdvd. They have them back in stock too. Well worth it.

Is it nicer all round or just because of the slip? I only want 1 copy to open, so there's no point in me buying this one if it'll be the same open as the French or Italian ones, or hopefully even the UK one if I can get hold of one!

Yes. Asian slip steelbooks are highly collectible. They usually don't get opened either.

The uk one is perfect to open as it was only £11.98.

Italy get a skyfall steel released tomorrow at 24.99 euros.
France and Germany follow next month. Also korea and Japan.

The UK one is perfect to open if you can get one, lol. I'm just gonna wait and see, I wouldn't even mind a slashed spine one as long as I get one.

I wouldn't say slip versions are any more collectible than other versions, just some people seem to like them. I personally think its a waste of money as you can get the same steel a lot cheaper. They ain't worth anymore than without a slip in my opinion.
