Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Well I just received another email from Amazon CS saying they have no idea when or if they'll receive more stock from which to supply replacements for the damaged ones. This while the damn thing keeps coming back into stock every 10 mins!

Sod it then, I'll just order new copies and send the duff ones back for a refund. No point waiting for replacements to be sent, it ain't gonna happen.

Got to say I've been impressed with Amazon customer service in the past but IMO they've really dropped the ball over this one.

I ordered a spare when it went online yesterday morning, it was shipped whilst I was watching Skyfall last night (got email about 23:00 GMT) and it arrived this morning at 10:00 GMT VIA 2nd class post. Talk about rapid. 11 hours from email to delivery.

And no slash on spine.

Received my 2 copies just now, as far as I can tell they're both perfect with no spine slash or any other marks. I do feel sorry for those who received damaged copies with Amazon refusing to replace them, even though they obviously could've done so easily from all the stock they sent out for new orders.
