Former HMV exclusive:
***Several members have stated that per HMV, pre-orders have been cancelled.

Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

I don't like the look of it in pics, but I wasn't a massive fan of others but loved them in my hands, will wait and see what if i like it when I own it, if I can ever order it lol

I bought mine from ebay for total of $44 usd.

The guy said the spine if fine on it.

Glad I missed preordering it from uk amazon.

I hate the scrape marks on the spine.

Now I need the first two Daniel Bond movies. :scat:

I received mine today and to be honest I am not too happy with it.

The images of both Daniel Craig and the Aston Martin look low resolution, they look fine from a distance but up close they look awful. I just expected better quality for a big budget film like Skyfall.

Same here. The back especially looks awful. Overrated SB IMO. Crap films get the best treatment not blockbusters.

I don't understand this, IMO the Skyfall Steelbook was done perfectly. Not many steelbooks exude class and style like this. Embossing or debossing wouldn't have been fitting for such a defined series and character. The use of color tone and mere presence of Bond infront of the Kingdom backed by the iconic image of the Ashton Martin makes this package... exceptional.

Got mine.... Now I know how other members feel when you receive a package where it has a slashed spine and dents. Mine had both... Not the postal fault as box was not damaged. I guess it was at the manufacturers.. Amazon should really have a quality control unit to inspect these before they send them out...

I miss play.com... always got everything in perfect condition with them.. Hopefully this will be the last damaged steelbook from Amazon.

+1 with you, miss play.com

I don't have a problem with the design of the steelbook. I am complaining about the image quality. Hold the steelbook about a foot from your face and look at Daniel Craig's head, it looks very pixelated. The image of the Aston Martin on the back looks like it was blurred and then sharpened, it does not look right at all.

Spoke to an amazon rep today via chat, she said its due in again very soon, but she wasnt sure as to when!
I think sometimes amazon customer service advisers do not know what day it is!!!

Mine turned up, slashed spine but otherwise all good.
Spine apart - very pleased with it. The back grainy image is also grainy on the card sleeve, which implies it was a stylistic choice on behalf of those making the steelbook. Fair play - just glad to have a steel of this great film.

Now it's called "Skyfall - Limited Edition Steelbook (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy) (Exclusive to Amazon.co.uk)[Region Free] [NTSC]" :)

Which is still incorrect because the DVD is locked to Region 1 & 2 but it's not Region Free , doesn't work with Region Codes 3,4,5 or 6.

Not that too many people would care about that :D
