Former HMV exclusive:

Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Never did get my replacements from Amazon despite the several restocks so I decided to place fresh orders and I got 2 undamaged ones through today. Phew! The slashed ones can go back for a refund.

Someone else noted that the more recent stock seems less subject to the spine slashing, so hopefully anyone getting in last minute orders might be ok.

Pretty much a disastrous release though with all the damaged copies. They really need to take steps to make sure this doesn't happen again.

Malaysia dvd player is region 3 :(

Yes, sorry, didn't mean to suggest that certain geographical regions are less important.

I mean the dvd is secondary to the Blu-ray itself for most people.

I notice the Blu-ray is listed as region free (and it definitely plays in all regions as I reset my Blu-ray player to Regions A B & C consecutively and had no problems.

The DVD is most definitely NOT Region Free , Amazon is wrong. I reset my Toshiba DVD Player to Regions 1 and then 3.

It played in Region 1 but refused to play the disc in Region 3 saying it was the wrong region code.

The region free refers to the blu ray disc only. Many titles are listed region free but this only covers the blu ray disc and not DVDs

As someone who is still new to this. Mine came with a slight rip in the front of the plastic, maybe an inch long. Can this still be considered sealed and if so how much value do I lose because of this? Any feedback is greatly appreciated as always. Thanks.

If its an inch long I think it would be considered a tear. Some people don't mind them while others do, it may affect the value slightly of someone was looking for a perfect sealed copy.

2 of 3 copies had spine damage-sold 1-was in the process of selling the other when the guy backed out-fair play-I'm sure someone at Amazon or MGM needs to be told how to open a box up-(i.e without using a stanley knife)-either that or the people shrink wrapping this hate 007 films!!! can't believe dented, slashed or worse are selling for outrageous prices on ebay-but then it is now a rareity..

Just got mine here in New York City today.

2 slashes on the spine unfortunately.

Anyone knows how Amazon UK deals with this for international customers? Thanks!

They could ask you to send back for a refund, offer a discount...Personally I would keep them as they are already worth more than you paid for them

Not sure how the uk amazon works but when i have ordered things from .ca and they arrived damaged they let me keep them and sent replacements as it costs so much to send back. Drop customer services a message and you might get lucky!

Just watched this and I have to say the Picture and sound quality was awesome. EEK!

For me it's the best Bond I have seen. The title track by Adele is :scat:

Why does everybody want the UK release?
I saw the Dutch version in a pre-release display in a store yesterday and it's exactly the same but single disc.
I can get it for €19 which equals £17 / $25

Ok, so got my copy early this morning and was feeling pretty confidant...

This is my 3rd steelbook in a row from Amazon that has arrived damaged.
I was pretty excited for "Skyfall", now it's 'crushing disappointment'. :tear:

Because 007 is British and for any Bond fan the UK steelbook is a must I guess plus the slip for once is clean and suits the front well ;)

Having said that I love my Taiwanese steelbook and that is on a different level altogether :p
