Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

This is kinda strange, I ordered 2, both dispatched (in separate packaging) on Feb 15th. I recieved the first one on Feb 18, which is probably the best turn-around I've ever got from amazon uk--->Chicago, IL USA. The second one still has not arrived, and had a delivery estimate date of Feb 25th. I emailed Amazon UK yesterday, and they want me to wait another week before chalking it up to customs losing the package. Very strange though, and I did choose to combine the shipping, does amazon uk not ship steelbooks together anymore with their new packaging?

I too had my copies dispatched seperately. Recieved 1st one last thursday and 2nd copy turned up on Monday. hopefully your other copy arrives soon.

I just got my copy yesterday, so I wouldn't lose hope yet.

And then there's that funny thing about where your package happens to be in the shipping container. I'm serious, if they are in the back, then they are the last to get processed by US Customs and reshipped out to you in the USA.

Got that little nugget from the one US Postal Regional Director I spoke with a couple years back. I don't know how I got her number, but probably just lucky I guess.

I work in logistics and a container with mail takes an hour or so to unload. They grab the packets and usually throw them on a conveyor belt.
Shipping time depends on the shipping method. Airmail takes a week from Europe to the US while mail that is actually shipped by sea can take weeks to arrive (longest I've heard is 8 weeks).
Pro tip : print out a blue "prioritaire" label and put it on your packet, this will increase the chances of it being shipped by airmail ...

My post office clerk once told me that overseas parcels from Germany aren't put on a ship anymore since 1995 or something...everything is sent by plane, but in different priority....

Now I have seen it all. My first 2 copies arrived with the blue line and a dented spine. Was fortunate enough to order 2 replacement copies. They arrived today and I was really anxious to see how they would turn out. I open the first one... slashed spine, surely the other one has to be mint. Guess again, not one but 2 slashes.
