I'm not so sure. Now down to only 22 copies from over 300 last night. This is shifting at the rate of 300-400 copies a day. At that rate, even if they restock from whatever is left of the 5000 run it's still going to sell out long before release date. YesAsia is already out. I don't think anyone interested should wait too long.

You mean all Asian releases.

Got an order in just in time, though I am sure this will be restocked before release. 5K at 1 per order in 2 days would be pretty unheard of to sellout that quick.

Got 1 after this thread up. It's my 1st time order from amazon.jp + my 1st steel it' say - 'LIMITED to 5000 copys'.

When you consider that it was selling at the rate of 400 copies a day, it makes sense that it would disappear pretty quickly.

I agree that it's likely to come back into stock again at some point, but it may not last long when it does.

I agree with you here, mate. Even though Apollo 13 sold out before I could get it, managed to get one off ebay at almost the same price after release. There will be many on ebay, and this being a worldwide release, I seriously doubt this will be a grail...

If really 400 went in a day, this must be one of Amazon JP's revenue generator for the past 2 weeks and a resounding success! Is Bond really that big in Japan, bigger than Marvel?

I don't know how it stacks up against Marvel but yes, Bond has always been very popular in Japan. It's why You Only Live Twice was filmed there. They even have an 007 Museum on Naoshima - one of only 2 in the world I think? (the other being in Sweden ).

It also means that a 007 steelbook will be bought not only by steelbook collectors and movie fans but also by Bond aficionados, many of whom collect all 007 merchandise and memorabilia.

That's maybe why Amazon made a big deal of the 'limited' 5000 run. They knew that demand would be high.

I think the 5000 limit is for whole of Japan, not just AmazonJP.

At first I tried to "Add to cart" but it said it was sold out. Then I browsed the other versions of the film and somehow a checkout screen appeared and I was able to preorder! It would only let me order 1 copy though...

And the HMV-JP preorder has a set of 8 postcards.
