I thought YA doesn't take money upfront.

That's not been my experience though some have reported differently. Like many online retailers though they do pre-authorise the transaction with your card issuer, and the amount stays as an pending transaction on your account.

I Jsdvd bigger or yesasia?

YesAsia is much bigger. It's a large operation. JSDVD is only a small store.

YA is of course bigger and their customer service is certainly better than JSDVD. With JSDVD once you have a problem (not like canceled order) it is going to be a nightmare to sort it out.

I had 3 or 4 orders at yesasia and money wasn't taken out. I contacted them to cancell all the orders few days prior to release and they did it within a day.

I think it is unfair to demonise YA for one such gaffe.

JSDVD took my money for Taken 2 and another in-stock Steel on Jan/5/2013. Taken 2 release date was Feb/4/2013. They shipped my order on 07 or 08th March 2013 after repeated emails. So this kind of sh** happens everywhere.

I thought YA doesn't take money upfront. Are you sure? Never seen them doing this. Did you pay by PayPal?

This is the risk of buying JP Steels at YA who themselves are dependent on a supplier that gets a small slice of the print run.

Maybe these are stocked at JSDVD like the Batman Steels.

Yes it was via Paypal.

I guess if you speak to anyone you will find problems with any retailer, it is one issue but its the first time I have had someone sell me something they don't own or have not secured regardless of payment type.

Are you sure it was upfront as some retailers like thehut group don't take the money out of PaYPal too unless it is sent? Maybe it was the transaction sitting there but payment was actually not taken out.

Pretty sure :) I didn't request a refund either lol!

Yes it was via Paypal.

Ah well that makes sense. It's normal for payments via PayPal to be taken up front by online retailers. Less common with credit card though.

I think it is unfair to demonise YA for one such gaffe.

It's an uncommonly bad gaffe though and one they should rightly take flak for, as it's going to cost some people a lot of money as they now have to turn to ebay or other resellers. Did they even get ANY copies at all? How could they offer it for sale without being certain of a guaranteed minimum quantity? Seems to me a pretty colossal clusterfk by any standards.

Can we get back to discussing the Steelbook now folks. You can discuss any issues you have with Yesasia in the steelbook retailer thread here. Thanks.

LOL! That could be true. Humbly, this is probably one of the first times i dont have a copy secured of a new release at point of release!

Seems like alot members ordered thru yesasia instead of amz. So disappointed at the end result. It's either thru Ebay or just count it as a loss cause it's way too expensive right now.

If they come wrapped separately there is really no value there. Doesn't make the steel any more valuable. YOu are kidding yourself if you think the add in bonus of a separate thing of $.40 cent postcards is gonna make a rare steel 2 times valuable.

Agreed. That's why I said like a billion posts ago that I wasn't worried about the post cards then.

Completely with you on this chip.

If you're referring me to saying the value of this is x3 more with the postcard, I was joking. I know what these things are worth. If it isn't inside the shrinkwrap or "part of the whole package" its worth no more than a dime extra.
