Hope I have this in the right place. I'd like to get some hard cases for my more valuable steels. They seem hard to get. A seller on Ebay Germany is selling them, but won't ship to Canada. but was unable to get any. Can anyone help?:(

If you can get hold of some clear Acrylic sheets you can make your own to any style, size you want.

Here is 1 i previously made.

The hard sleeves are quite good, but while they make the spine look better, they're not quite as transparent as poly sleeves, and they don't protect every side. What I'd really like are slipboxes (open on the spine side, every other side covered) made from the hard sleeve material.

What I've been doing recently, is using polybags, but twisting them left. They are then tight on the front and spine with the join not covering the title. But, it makes the bag scrunch up a bit on the back.

it is possible to make 3 sided cases with the acrylic sheets. (taken from another forum.)

I just make the cases with the top & bottom side protected and than on my storage shelf i have padding on the back so the opening side of the steelbook doesn't catch on the shelf.

Thanks for the heads up on where to purchase them! I'm going to try to make some myself if I can find some of those sheets :) I'll post the results if i do haha

I have neither the materials, nor the means to make those materials into an actual shape that isn't a terrible mess.

lol! if you can use a knife and pair of scissors than job done.

if you want to give it a go PM and i will send you a link to an ebay seller or email (cheaper if buying bulk) and will also send you a template guide i use.

no problem mate, don't think the guy i use for the sheets posts worldwide due to the weight.

Out of interest there's a clear plastic slip for blu rays being advertised on ebay at the moment... item number 160865953766. I hope I'm not infringing any rules by posting this.

I have both plastic pouches and acrylic sleeves. Which ones are the safest? I use the plastic pouches a lot but I love the look of the acrylic sleeves as you are obstructing the spine.

What do you think?

The sleeves were tough to use at first; I scratched up my V for Vendetta US putting one on and it had me like  although I was able to put them on some, I eventually switched to the polybags and I love those more...spine still looks great on the shelf..too much trouble with the sleeves scratching the steels

I ordered some of these from eBay, although pricey they actually look very cool much nicer than polybags in my opinion and much easier to remove the disks! I think I'm going to replace all my polybags with them over the next few months.

There's a forum member in our group buy section that sells ones almost like this. In fact I believe them to be better than this because the ones John sells cover and protect the spine too and there just as easy to take off. Get 30 posts and you'll be able to view the sales/trades forum and take part in the group buys. :)

Here's a comparison between the ones I use and poly sleeves.
