Hope I have this in the right place. I'd like to get some hard cases for my more valuable steels. They seem hard to get. A seller on Ebay Germany is selling them, but won't ship to Canada. but was unable to get any. Can anyone help?:(

I ordered the sleeves from the Bluraysteelbooks.com site. Any idea how long before they ship and what method is used?

My 100-pack showed up 10-12 days after I placed my order via USPS first class. I was out of town and my gf took delivery of them, so not exactly sure which day they arrived. Hope that helps.

i have found these alpha cases with the locking mechanism removed on ebay

Care to share with the rest of us?

I would even consider buying the Alpha S3 cases with the locking mechanism, if only there were a way to legitimately do so. Do they have a website where businesses can order from?

Rip-Off

THIS IS NO COMMERTIAL, JUST WARNING

please be patient. There are some rip-offs of my SteelShell Slipcover. A guy in United Kingdom is selling the same product. This is a tacky rip-off / copy.

I am the only inventor and owner of this kind of slipcover. I named them SteelShell. The SteelShell is a well-known product worldwide and stands for highest quality. The Design is unique. If you get a bunch of the SteelShell which are not from Germany please contact me immediately.

How do you know if the bought product is the original? Every package has “Germany” as addressor. Every sending contains a small two-sided printed paper with two QR-Codes on.

I please you not to support this rip-off. Furthermore this stolen product casts a dark shadow on my work and products.
Thank you
Kai

I look for this:

Vertical_01_2013.jpg
Vertical design. Closed on three sides, only the top is open

Can anyone help me find it?

These look perfect. I want something like this so i can store them with their backing cards but i cant find them anywhere

Me too. I bought a set months ago and have nearly used them all, just went looking for more from sale seller (on ebay) and he doesn't seem to sell them anymore. Grrrrr.

I got in touch with the guy I bought them from on eBay and he said that he had them made to his specification, all that he had are sold and he'll be getting no more.

...so, is someone who makes such things, like blusteels, able to make some for those of us who don't like the side loaders? You could sell them on here. There's at least 3 of us who want them... :D

Does anyone have a spare Jumbo steelshell they wouldn't mind parting with? I only have The Walking Dead s3, so I dont have the need to buy a lot off eBay

Hello All The Ninja is back and he is reviewing Blu-Steels Steel Shells

Check it out

Just a quick note about the video...the closed spine side of the shell does not stick out and need to be flattened out over time as mentioned and shown in the video...it can be folded completely flat.
Also, in the video when the steelbook is being placed onto the shelf, note the steelshell has been put on backwards by mistake so the 2 semi-circular tabs are actually showing on the front of the steelbook, and not on the backside where they should be.
You'll also notice in this segment the spine side not completely flat. It has not been folded down fully. These things fit perfect.

A discussion has risen at BR forum that the German blu-steels steel-shells are made of PVC which is harmful to collections. Apparently it can damage the paint because of some type of chemical interaction with the PVC and the paint. I have had my collection in poly bags for a year now and I just purchased 25 of the steel-shells too. Can anyone comment on whether or not either of these types of material will cause damage to the steelbooks? And why or why not?

I can confirm this 100% I actually warned folk about this problem 2 years ago. PVC all but destroyed my German Iron Man 2 Steelbook. It's especially problematic on matt Steelbooks, such as those cheap German releases. Black spots appear on the Steelbook, usually starting at the Blue banner area. As soon as my collection arrives here I will happily show you pictures of the damage. It also takes the shine off black Steelbooks. It only takes a couple of weeks to begin eating away at the paint.

I've had zero problems with the BluSteels 'steelshells' and have heard of nobody else reporting issues with them...
What brand of sleeve did you have problems with?...can you be more specific....

over time pvc can make the ink run on paper products...but thats like 5 to 10 years over time from what i have read.

I highly doubt that in 2 to 3 weeks in time it can take out metal and or paint.
I have had my steelbooks in steel shells for 4 weeks now...and nothing lol
The glue used on the back of jcards are more damaging then pvc.

share pics

scratches are different then when acid eats paint. you will have faded spots rather than seeing bare metal

Museums don't use pvc material as their cases are completely sealed as well and the steel shells i dont think you can get any moisture or any sort of gasses trapped inside to really do any thing damaging to the paint on the steelbook like a completely sealed case

I'm not saying that Steel Shells cause damage as I do not own any. What I am saying is that PVC in general has had a very negative impact on some of my Steelbooks.

I am very worried about this information.
I checked all my steelbooks with plastic sleeves to see if they have any sort of damage,
None of them has damages, but I am inclined to remove all my steelbooks from the sleeves.

i never got any response that a steelbook got damaged by the material its made of. I have over 300 Steelbooks in the Steelshell and all of them are without any damage of the material. Not from mine and not from the french or english ones. all slipcovers do their job.

Woo! Just got in my Rocketeer from cudzndrips' GB and he was kind enough to include 1 jumbo steelshell for something else since I only have 1 jumbo steel.

Anyone know if their are the plastic shell sleeves/cover that fit bigger steelbook sleeves like the blufans Jack Reacher and GI Joe?

I keep all my steels in shell sleeves so would love to be able to do the same for those blufans if they exist hah
