Yeah they not been very good this time round.
No email reply since I placed my pre order!
Im still keeping the order as I can play region free so not waiting for anything.

One of the main reasonsa lot of people are buying this is that it was supposed to have english subs BUT if this is region locked then most european customers will be **** out of luck with only the most boring artwork to console them.

I have a copy but I don't know if it's korean, but it's from the uncut version and I am able to diseable the english subs throught the movie....only keep the sub number to the Korean speakin part // so it's like hard coded subs but for the Korean speakin parts

I think we need to wait to hear from someone who definitely has the Korean disc in hand before we jump to conclusions.
I'm multi-region, so only really concerned about the subs. But I'm not going to cancel; worst case, I'll pick up a domestic release & swap discs.

As far as I am aware this movie has not been released on bluray in any english speaking country. Therfore there is no domestic disc for you to swap!!!

How are people, specifically steelbook collectors, still region locked in 2014  you have people spending what, $200+ on multiple copies of the exact same movie for a slightly different box, but complain about region coding?

You're right, but one can argue, why in 2014 does an international movie studio manufacture region-specific discs? Maybe someone has more insight into that because I've got not idea.

Region-coding could also suggest the inevitable worldwide release of the film on Blu-Ray, so sourcing other discs won't be a problem (hopefully).

Well I'm not cancelling my full slip edition as I'm sure it's going to be amazing and having a multi region Oppo player means it's not a problem what region it's locked to...:greyalien: :giggle:

I did read that Weinstein had capitulated on the US release and now there will be 2 versions released. The cut version (20 mins) and a Directors cut ( Original 125 mins).....So if it's region free then you can swap the disc with the US Directors cut....

Or the UK release which will be DC :)
Normally Korean discs of Movies in Korean have english subs so I dont think this will be missing the subs for Korean parts. Only thing guaranteed is no subs for Extras which is what I am regretting spending this much on as I like extras so wont be able to watch them.

Well release date moved a week forward... so surely we must be at a point where discs have been authored and can confirm the state of region coding and subtitles?

It's a rights issue, not something we can do anything about. But we can get region free Blu-ray players.

I Managed to order a,b, & c. Im only opening one so, not such a big deal if I have to swap the disk. I like to watch Blu rays on my ps4, so I don't bother with a region free player. Kimchi is all about the packaging and most stay sealed so no biggie. Bring it. Can't wait!
