Betting big on the upcoming festival season, Sony India has announced a slew of consumer electronic products for India. First up was the Bravia KD-X9000 TV, which is Sony's first 4K technology TV. This 84-inch TV is equipped with 4K resolution (3840X2160), which gives four times the resolution of Full HD.
Priced at Rs. 16,99,990 this TV will be available for pre-booking from October 20, 2012 and will be available in the market by end of November 2012 at selected Sony outlets.

16,99,990 seems like a comma is out of place or their missing a # ... wonder which it is....

LOL, that's a lot of cash!!!..The LG 84" 4k is $13,000 cheaper!!!..You can buy their (sony) 4k projector for $10k less, and watch it on a 120" screen :scat:

Taxes, taxes!

Dunno about fancy rich folks, but def too expensive for me! As pointed out the earlier post is right, there's a different system we use in India for units of numbers. And the price isn't an indication of what you'd pay outside of India. As an example, a 54 in HDTV in India currently cost about US 8k, it's the bleeding govt taxes!
