for proof of age, it is unfortunately necessary that a copy of your ID is present.
This is required by law. We as a shop operator must ensure that the customer is 18 years old.
Read under FSK or SPIO
However, this only applies to FSK 18 films!
SPRING is FSK 16!

My comments are about this German law, and not your shop and enterprise. I like what you are doing, But hate that the law is handcuffing you for certain stuff.

What you can do is to black out everything important, except for your name, address and birth date. That usually is sufficient.
Good to know. That may be more adequate and doable...

Amazon Price for Identship is 5 €.
please thing how many package amazon ship everyday. So they have special Price.

I can do the same like Amazon but NOT for this Price. I thing nobody want pay over 25 € for ID shipping, OR ???

Please compare me not with amazon :)

The 5 € ID shipping is necessary just for orders within Germany.
I can order USK/FSK 18 stuff to from Amazon.de to Austria without any ID checking or ID shipping.

Oh boy, the german law..
i knew that this FSK18-thingy would start a mess at some point...

Most important thing, that a lot of us should not forget:

Nobody will have to send any ID document to Steelarchive, as long as the titles aren't FSK18 - so for the first exclusive, you won't have to do anything.
I think Steelarchive will keep that in mind and keep the number of exclusives, that would require this procedure, as low as possible...

Exactly what you ninjas above me said! I'm really excited for this release and to see what releases are next. I love the artwork and I love the fact a german retailer trying to step into the game. I really really hope I will be able to cop one.

Same here. I order a lot from Amazon.de that is FSK18. No problem. I only run into this issue with other German retailers. And you know what ends up happening? They don't get my sale. So the onus is on them to try to figure out how to do it. What @Logikloch said is right. This law should in no way effect any buyer outside of Germany.

If that is the final price then it is ridiculous. The regular Steelbook release is only €16.99.

Give the Guy some slack...It's only a £17 uplift for a slip + numbered card + Time and Effort to bring this to market.

First release of a new startup company, have to make sure they regain their cost back. Also, when you make things in smaller print runs, your price per increases. If this were a run of 500 or 1,000; I'm sure the overall cost of making the full slips would be less, and the price might be lower.

@jacobsever got it figured - it's basically because of the very, very small print run. With such a small number of copies to be produced the effort for the involved companies to produce the slips, cards, etc. is way more expensive, then with higher print runs.
On the other hand, the print run HAS to be so small, due to Steelarchive beeing pretty much a newbie company in this business, which leads to a smaller budget and bigger risk.

I'm sure prices will drop, once Steelarchive gets the communitys confirmation of producing great items for collectors, so they take more money in the hand to release higher print runs. :)
They got my order for sure, not only because i want to see how the result of this will look like.

@monsterzebra @DuckDogers
The listed timezone is same as Berlin's right?

Yes, it's the Central European Summer-Time, which is also applicable for Berlin. :)

Do we talk to you when something goes wrong?

I really like the image in the church the best. I loved it during the film, just an awesome setting with gothic imagery.

I'm really excited for this release, and Steel Archive in general. Even though this film choice is somewhat indie/niche because of budget reasons; I'd love for this company to continue with these sort of choices. We already have Blufans/Kimchi/Nova/FilmArena for some of the bigger Hollywood films, action films, etc. Germany already has a great reputation for releasing horror media books, so if SteelArchive wanted to stick to low budget, indie, art films...I wouldn't complain at all. :)

Give me a full slip, steelbook edition of Coherence, Starry Eyes, We Are Still Here, Slow West, It Follows, Blue Ruin, Honeymoon, etc etc...I'd be such a happy camper.

Good choices! And, yeah, they have to start small with a smaller movie. Remember Plain Archive started with Melancholia strictly because it was a failure at the box office, and they knew they could get the rights for cheap.
