1. Star Trek XI - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray] (Black)
2. Star Trek XI - Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray] (White)

As in worldwide exclusive artwork (WEA) which isn't available anywhere else in the world except through the retailer offering that artwork

A recent example would be Who Framed Roger Rabbit? which has completely exclusive artwork, but it's also a world exclusive steelbook too

Perhaps a better example is Play's exclusive Terminator. This was released globally with the same artwork with the exception of Play who got exclusive artwork (both inside and out) and embossing to set it apart from the rest

I already own the FS/ Play editions but cannot wait to get this and the Black editions. Hopefully this one will be sans the Blue banner. I purchased the DVD SteelBook for a friend and it looked so much better without the banner.

I am a bit confused about this release. I pre ordered from Zavvi when the white one was shown on their website bit short time later the white one has never again been shown but only the black one was found on their website. I thought it was a correction of their artwork. I am curious now which one i will get. Hopefully the white one (even i have the original 3 disc Play.com steel). The black one is still available from zavvi so if i get the white one i will order the black one as well.

Zavvi are selling both versions. Chances are you have ordered the white one, there is a way to tell, if it says on your order zavvi exclusive then its the black sb

I checked my undelivered orders. It doesn't say Zavvi exclusive and the release date is 13.05. so it should be the white one. I haven't seen the white one on any other website yet. Does anyone know how many have been printed of this one?

The white one states exclusive. The black cover states zavvi exclusive

I hope that this isn't a common trend

That's right mate. Hopefully for you guys it's just Zavvi screwing up my pre-order only. They have emailed me twice now, giving me different reasons for the cancellation both times! I have messaged them via Facebook as well, so hopefully I'll get some more news tomorrow!

Are we all sure that this is still out on the 13th? The pre-order I made still states the 13th. However, my preorder of the black steel still says it's out on the 13th even though it was delayed until the 27th.

Zavvi's pre-order pages do need a massive overhaul.

I wonder if the print run for this is less than the original Play version. Could make it more rare. Bit of wishful thinking. I think the original is a stunner.
