NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:

We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

Looks like there will be 4000 copies of a steelbook with 2d and 3d versions of the film included and then 4000 copies of the villain edition with the spaceship model. So 8000 in total.

Whos is talking about Amazon. The ES versions "normal" and "villian" are both 2d and 3d and the print run is 4000 each. Right?

By the looks of things this will sell out much faster than the villain version. Most people on here like this artwork more and don't care about the model. Most non heavy collectors who like steelbooks wont be willing to spend the extra money to get the villain version. I'm excited to order this version My view anyway
