Old Updates & infos:
NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the ***8220;special packaging***8221; we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though ***8211; some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won***8217;t be disappointed, I promise!

PREVIOUS UPDATE:
A stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC, but we have really special plans for the packaging.

Original infos:From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

All depends doesn't it, people have different experiences I've never had a problem with dpd, also I just expect the Friday and sat deliveries were lucky. No conspiracy about it.

You've questioned whether they even dispatched on Tuesday, and thought they had in fact dispatched on Thursday. If you can find a second class service that arrives within 1-2 days then fine, otherwise it's more than just 'luck'.

I think the main issue here is the fact Play said they dispatched Tuesday, so everyone getting annoyed. Why lie about that...makes no sense at all.

I believe they were dispatched Tuesday, I received mine on Saturday and the first picture posted on here was on Friday evening. My shipping was free and I've never paid shipping on play/ES I didn't even know you could pay for 1st/2nd class postage.

Im only basing my opinion on what people had put about invoices being dated the 29th instead of the 27th, a little odd wouldn't you say. So what i Have said is a assumption on what I have read. I'm still waiting on mine so it ain't based on what I know at this point.

Yeah same here, email said dispatched Tuesday yet invoice was dated Thursday !

Mine started processing monday 26th ( also sent an email to cancel my 2nd copy), received dispatched email tuesday 27th, then received canceled and refund email wednesday 28th in the afternoon, I received my copy today (which is amazing by the way) invoice said 28th. But it is damaged with a nice paint chip on the bottom:angry:.

Am I missing something here? Why does it matter that they took the money last Tuesday?

And with regards to the postage times, well that's RM 2nd class unfortunately. Mine turned up today and there have been pics in here since last Friday so it shows how random it's been. The fact that most Amazon ones haven't even been dispatched yet leads me to believe that maybe there have been delays from the studio distribution centre perhaps

Certainly no need for people to be getting angry over yet is there?

There latest feedback on play says it all really many many unhappy people ES have messed up big looks like they've ran out of steam.
now its all money how can we make more were can we cut corners, didn't take them long what a waste.

2 of 3 of my steels were damaged and my villain edition had the steel bouncing around inside the box so far I can't get ES to fix this in-fact 1 e-mail replied plz wait until thurs for delivery your item will be with you shortly they didn't even read my e-mail before replying it had nothing to do with non delivery of items it was about the damaged items I received, so no more ES for me this is not a one off small issue and I can't be that unlucky that 3 of 4 of my items are damaged.

this issue rivals my worst experience and that was with zavvi this is why amazon was always be the no1 retailer and everybody else is just trying to catch up amazon would never pull this pretty soon I think most stores will be amazon no hmv or ES or Zavvi amazon continue to corner the market in this area these others retailers have a lot to learn that's why they won't last, imo it's just a matter of time.

My invoice dates are 3x 29th aug and 1x 30th aug and I received them all today 2nd sep.
The despatch time on the play.com website was 27th aug on all 4 items.

Mine arrived today. IMO, I quite like the steel. I'm probably not disappointed as I was really not following every post and update in regards to emboss/deboss/finish/whatever, but I'm satisfied with what I got. Arrived in perfect condition as well.

Just got done watching the film and enjoyed it very much. I'm not much of a Trekie, but after seeing these 2 films in the reboot series, I might have to fix that.... XD

Most of the recent bad feedback seems to be over not receiving on release day, which I dont think is a big deal.

Agreed. If you put things into context there are 6 negative feedback stemming from the ST releases, 2 of which are the same person under 2 accounts. So 5 negative out of at least 4k transactions would lead me to think the issue is not so extreme

Revolver - no-one likes receiving damaged steels. When it happens it sucks, so I can sympathize & really hope you get it sorted out. From all that I read on here and personal experience they have been very helpful and I would think they will be with you too. Just be patient

Well under various acts such as the Sale of Goods Act 1979, and the Distance Selling regulations 2000. Part of which says the retailer is responsible for the goods whilst they are in transit.

Must be fit for purpose of satisifactory quality and as described.

Just start quoting the various acts of Parliament that are law and give them x amount of time to resolve your complaint before you will report them to trading standards.

I know what you are saying, its only a steelbook so does it really matter if its a day or two late.

But it does matter when the order page says "shipped for delivery on release day" they take the money 6 days before release, send an email saying shipped the same day and then when it arrives there is an invoice inside dated 2 days after it supposedly shipped !!

That's why people are annoyed :)

I think ES could have avoided some complaints with a simple rephrasing

"We aim to ship for delivery on day of release"

And when they say they have shipped the item, the invovice inside shouldn't be dated 2 days later. i.e. only send the e-mail saying item has been dispatched when it is on the van leaving their depot.

Two quick fixes that resolve many of the complaints.

I'm sorry guys but 3 damaged items nobody is that unlucky I think you'll find a lot more complaints to follow.
Don't get me wrong I wish it wasn't the case and up to now ES have been top notch but this time they've changed a lot of things and not for the good.
I love my steels but it's getting like Russian roulette. now every time I order a steel it's panic am I gonna get the bullet this time or am I safe the only retailer that I'm more or less ok with is amazon man they just phone you and sort it in 2mins.
I did not think ES would be this kind of retailer as I've never had a problem but now that I have I guess I know what they're really like.

Mine arrived with a small paint chip. Emailed ES straight away, a replacement was dispatched within 2 hours and I was asked to send the original back when the replacement arrives, and a postage refund would be given when it gets back to them.

Say what you want, ES rock.

Yup ES have great service when it comes to replacements. When they first got heat back in stock mine arrived damaged and they sent a replacement right away.

I just hope I get my Star Trek steelbook today as I really wanna watch it :ohno:
