NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the “special packaging” we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though – some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won’t be disappointed, I promise!

Star Trek Into Darkness – The Villain Edition (Entertainment Store Exclusive)
Deluxe packaging featuring a 1:50 scale model of the USS Vengeance alongside a stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Final packaging, steelbook finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC.

PREVIOUS UPDATES
From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

The information in the listing on play.com states that it is limited to 4000 copies worldwide, so will that include the walmart version also and any other yet to be announced versions?
If so then this could be a 50:50 split and only 2000 copies of the uk version, it stated the same for the other es steelbook of into darkness.

I assume they mean only 4000 of this type as there are some slight differences.

I am into steelbook collecting not pretty cardboard box and some micro toy, hell no to that price, the toy worthless am sure you can go buy a much better toy if you really wanted one of the ship and the box will only get bin because my steelbook will not getting stored in it, it will be up on display. £44.99 they having a bloody laugh.

I have already emailed entertainment store to confirm what the print run of each one is

If I get a response I will post the answer here...

I would like to know if this SteelBook is going to have their Exclusive sticker on it since it's being packaged with the model ship.

What do you guys think about this now that we have seen the packaging? Will the SteelBook itself have any kind of identification that it is an ES Exclusive?

There's an entertainment store sticker on the bottom right of the box.

I doubt there will be one on the actual steelbook as that would probably involve them removing it from the packaging.

That's what I was thinking too. This will cost almost $45-50 more than the Wal-Mart version to import. :ohno:

Think I'm going to take a chance that the FS version will have this art, get the Wal-Mart ship version, and the normal ES release. Then focus on trying to get all 3 Blufans. Phew!!

I prefer this steelbook over the other one, but is the Hot Wheels model really worth an extra £20?

gotta agree with you noodles the extra £20 just isn't worth the Hot Wheels model, so i ordered the normal one and the amazon one as you still have the heros and the villians. Theres logic in there somewhere.

Not bothered about the little ship model, so I'll probably pick this version up as an Asian copy, as I believe the Taiwanese and Korean copies will have the same steelbook artwork.

I did pre-order this along with the other ES steelbook and the Amazon steelbook.

After a long think, I decided to cancel this and stick with the other two as paying £20 extra for a little Hot Wheels model is taking the micky!

You can pick up the Hot Wheels USS Vengeance model on the net along with 3 other ships (Klingon Bird of Prey, U.S.S. Excelsior, U.S.S. Kelvin) so it may work out cheaper to just get the steel and buy these separately.
