This is a disappointing release, only because the QC on the steelbook wasn't good. The only good thing this had going for it was the in-store price. For $29.96 plus tax, I can't complain. I went through 3 copies and each steel was damaged.

I'm sort of perplexed as to why they would not shrink wrap the steel itself....if it's advertised as a "limited COLLECTORS edition", then package it FOR a collector.

My copy arrived in the mail today, and I am really impressed. What a nice looking set for a great price. I hope Wal-Mart does more of these releases. I'm sure they must take notice that this type of thing sells out right away online.

Step up!

That means nothing to me as i have no interest in 3D other than at the cinema. I won't be overhauling my system just for 3D, still too gimicky.

I would recommend to spend a little cash and get a real TV that plays 3D its worth it! I suggest The Hobbit to break it in

Going back to the Limited Gift Set:dunno:
My walmart rolled out the pallet that had these at 12:15 A:M ( I know cause I was there ) and the Box holding these very limited sets was holding three larger Boxe's up! after going through 8 very damaged Limited sets I only found one that wasn't destroyed. As I was paying, I noticed they started to place SPIDER WRAPS on the already damaged Limited steelbook sets:angry:

I seriously thought Target was the only store that did this!

I compared this version to the amazon.uk version, and even though this doesn't have embossing, the finish on this is much better. The amazon.uk version is dull looking compared to this one. Too bad about the flaws though.

If you think this film has good 3d your way off, its post converted. Secondly, if you saw The Hobbit in 48fps 3d, everything else looks like crap. A shame we won't see the light of day for that anytime soon.

I received my set in the mail the other day, and got my credit from Walmart.com. The steel was loose in the collectible packing no doubt from the terrible (no packing) job Walmart.com did. Thankfully no damage to the steelbook, but the internals of the box were ripped. So regardless of that I hoped it. What a disappointment this was, I could have sworn I read that it was at least metal. Its bendy plastic, the engines of the craft shake at the slightest jiggle and bend. Meh. Not worth the 30$ imho. I think I would have been happier spending the money on a overseas 3d edition instead of this.

Oh well.

Well, well, well - looky here - I stopped at a Walmart store under renovation a little distance away just to check out what they have in store:

8 captured here are in great shape - no tears or crushes in the packaging and another 8 on the front display - mostly in good shape due to manhandling and another 4 in the regular shelf space all still in good shape. This store in Everett WA, according to the electronics gal there received 30 units!!!! And at last count they have 19 left to sell :) Amazing that this is sold out online and stores like this one still has more than a few to sell.

The two Walmart stores by my house are sold out of this by Wednesday and they each had about 12 units.

yeah, there are a ton at my walmart on sale for $30 now, I honestly prefer the looking of the future shop version and I couldn't care less about a little villain ship.
