Why do i have a feeling that all we'll get in April is a 2D edition and bonus disc but towards Christmas 2016, we'll get a deuxe set with 3D, 2D and more bonus features to drum up promotion for Rogue One?

(which is what Paramount did with Transformers : Dark of the Moon and very similar the Lord of the Rings / Hobbit releases)

At least we know if Fox distributed this the situation would've been the same (Avatar).

Well if that be the case I'm out, I only buy the 2d & 3d combos every time so just like Jurassic world if they choose to pull a fast one, no sale here, and I still haven't bought JW even though they did release a combo eventually, they neglected to give it the lenti slip, universal learned a lesson there sort off, I doubt other studios would be so stupid, what we will get is a 2d w/bonus & a 2d/3d w/bonus Combo as Disney always do, at least I hope so or like I said i'll be passing on it. the u.s will defo have the combo tho, so if we continue to be ripped of here in the U.K. just import it works out bout the same, the U.S. product is cheaper than the U.K. so less return for studios, as I've said in the past our media prices are high compared to other country's you'd think they'd keep us happy since we provide better profit margins per unit sold.
God know they already cut corners on the packaging with half a** slip covers were the U.S. get these sexy things we get flat crap, if any at all.

I'm surprised we haven't seen more European countries get this.

Only UK, Czech and Germany (so far)

Most other countries have the Amaray up for preorder.
Finland is getting this as well and it will be a 2-disc version with a bonus disc. No 3D, at least according to the pre-order information, but I'm 100% happy with that as I don't like 3D anyway.

I would rather have a bonus disc with good extras over any 3D disc release

I also prefer to watch a film in 2D
I would be more annoyed if the bonus disc was dropped to be replaced with a 3D Disc

I love watching extras with films and have some brilliant Blu-ray releases with fantastic extras
Some the extras are better than the film itself and very entertaining

With me 3D gets watched once if at all.
Most of the time I don't bother with the 3D disc unless it has some exclusive extras I want to watch and 99% of the time they are 2D anyway

2D Blu-Ray Films
I watch multiple times and also watch extras discs if separate disc multiple times

I know a lot of the younger generation like 3D but I bet most repeated viewings is in 2D and not 3D

I do like decent extras and I would expect to get some with a Star Wars movie & the 3D was a let down (once again) in the cinema. Though on many occasions I have found the 3D to be better on my home setup.
Some of the movies I own I prefer to watch in 3D like Avatar for instance but then again it was filmed in 3D.
I do want this in 3D but I can understand Disney's thinking if they want to release them all in 3D at the same time, and use this as the primary advert for it.

It would be nice to it in 3D with this release but not with 3D plastered all over the box.

My thoughts too. I'm hoping for substantial extras with this. 3d would be a nice bonus but it's not the be all and end all for me.

I have heard plenty of people say that the 3d is good.

Maybe a release with 3d/2d/bonus would solve this for everyone ! Am not of the younger generation, and i love 3d, when its done well, it take's it to a whole new level !!!! Some people have trouble seeing 3d and just stick with the 2d, which is a shame ! That added depth and 3d special effect's put you into the movie and the movie into your living room, so to speak. Disney have been a big supporter of 3d ! Just hope it continue's with this steelbook.

I think we will get blu ray and bonus disc as stated with this release in April and then hopefully in November another release with 3d version maybe with phantom menace as well in lead up to new movie

If the film was released in 3D, it should be included in the home 'premium' steelbook package. Full stop. They charge enough for them!

I take 3D over extras any day. I didn't splash out on a 3D TV to be denied the content by the studio.

For me, the film will be watched repeatedly. I like to have the 3D option for that at all possible times. Extras will be watched once if at all for me.

And nowadays most movie extra features are uploaded to You Tube anyway. So I can just log in there and watch them any time....

100% agree !!!! These are not boot leg copie's by the shed load. Come on Disney, do yourself proud ! The destroyer sticking out of the screen is worth the extra alone ! Digital download for plain vanilla 2d.

But who will upload the extras if they're not included? I know what you mean though, if it's behind-the-scenes/interviews most of this is universally available. But I'm an audio commentary purist - all the other films had them so for me that takes precedent over 3D. But even still, you don't attach a 3D price tag for a non 3D release. This should be £17.99 at the most.

But I loved the film so how does one decide...

Me too, it should be included IMO

Yeah it was great.

Yeah me too.

So, just to clarify, you want the 3D disc too right? I wouldn't want any misunderstandings ;)
Yes correctly, this steelbook should include a 3D disc+ 2 D disc and if it was up to me , an extra disc with complete making of features, like for example on the LOTR and The Hobbit extended edition
Unfortunately there will be only 2 disc, but they could do it like the transformers age of extinction disc from play com or the german avatar mediamarkt
where 1 disc includes 3D and 2D and 1disc with the making of

If they're not included then again, that's down to the studio holding back content (or maybe there IS nothing else to add. Not all films have special features)

I don't see why they're can't be a 3D movie with a commentary track attached?

But these are usually on the 2D disc anyway so we go back into 2D/3D combo packs territory.......

The release date on Zavvi says Release Date: 31 December 2016

So they're taking pre-orders over a year in advance ???!!!!????!!!???

And I thought FilmArena were bad.
